Potential jurors are weeded out during jury selection.
Two seperate processes.

Being selected for jury duty does not mean you are a juror.
Jury selection weeds out the undesireables.
The potential jurors are not hand selected, they are pulled from a pool.
Jurors are hand selected by the prosecutor and defense.
The judge does not select the jury.

Some prospective jurors were excluded because they indicated the could not put aside their dislike of Trump.

The Defense has a 10 “peremptory” challenges (Rule 24 DC circuit) where they can toss people just because.

Stone's attorney would have burned through those in DC pretty fast.

This leaves the defense down to "for cause" rejections.

The judge is not letting them reject clearly biased jurors.

Given the DC appeals court has been heavily appointed by Trump this case is going to get appealed (assuming there is conviction) and the judge is going to get pistol whipped for bias by the appeals court.
