Where did kids get the idea that it is the Parents/Grand Parents duty to pay for their College education?

I hate to preach on this, but here goes.....I worked full time in the summers and part time in the winters,( Construction), to pay for my college.
The day I walked down from then podium with my sheep skin, I owned it with Zero dollars owed to anyone.
My Father worked hard in the packing industry and my Mom was a Beautician. They made OK wages but not "Pay for your kid to graduate", money.
I see a bunch of whiny, spoiled kids who expect their parents to second mortgage, borrow, sell their cars etc. to pay THEIR WAY through college.
Don't give me the costs are so much higher now BS, it is just not true.
When I went to college a new car was about 12,000.00 dollars, (Chevy Impala), Homes were about 100,000.00 dollars, (In the Midwest) and a coke cost 25 cents.
My college costs were about $50,000. with books,( Creighton University) in Omaha, NE.
I graduated in 1985, worked full time and got my Masters in Finance in 1989 and never looked back.
There is no drive in this generation, unless of course you can major in Nintendo.
