Bit over twelve months ago moved outside Nimbin which is getting hammered now. My oldies are at port Macquarie getting hammered now and wife driving down to Sydney tomorrow. It’s fucking dry and bad up here. Supposed to be a rainforest. It’s as dry and brown as western Sydney. |

UPDATE Pg 46: 'Liquid gold' and 'a sight for sore eyes' are some of the ways people are describing the rainfall There was a report last night in the news of (insert your own expletive)some one had broken into a shed that housed the volunteer fire fighting/rescue/resource centre equipment and stole the monitor that's used to track and co-ordinate fire crews in a bush fire emergency situation. I find that behaviour utterly disgusting. Despite looking, I haven't been able to find the news report. for the people and the animals impacted by these horrendous fires. AdorableLittlepixie I am safe and protected with every step I take with everybody always. |

When I was listening to the emergency radios during the California fires here in the US, there was a couple hour period where they had to ground all the tanker planes and water drop helicopters because there was a guy flying a drone around at a couple thousand feet making it too dangerous to fly there and do the water drops. This world is full of malicious people and also idiots that don't have the slightest clue how much they ruin the best efforts of those around them. |

UPDATE Pg 46: 'Liquid gold' and 'a sight for sore eyes' are some of the ways people are describing the rainfall Hi CP. We're in West Pymble, Sydney where they had the fire bomber and choppers dumping the pink shit. Was a bad day yesterday, but these firies are amazing. They drove up and down all our streets and told certain homes to evacuate etc. We had a couple of trucks in our street, as we back onto the Lane Cove National park and have a few fire boxes on our perimeter. Was a scary day, but they did an amazing job keeping everyone safe here. Not one house lost. Our chinese neighbours were totally freaked out to the point they were on the front lawn screaming! We calmed them down saying we'd been through quite a few fires in the last 30 years and it would be OK. The husband drove out only to return with a pink car and himself covered in pink. The idiot had driven out to 'see the fire'. What a fucken idiot! We all lost it, and the chinese wife also started laughing. Broke the tension. Anyway, our stupid media really ham it up making it look even worse than it is, especially when they dont have to drive out to country locations. It is bad, but today is calm and cool. |

The fact the cars are parked so neatly, not evacuated. The chopper so low and close to the fire front. The clear juxtaposition of clean air vs a fireball/black smoke front. Anyone who's been in and near fires knows the whole place gets hazed up way before a fire gets that close. A real pic like this would be front page gold. Where's it posted? |
