I don't know what point you are trying to make, but Nimoy mentions scientific data that pointed to a 2C cooling of the Arctic at that time.

It seems to me that that 2C cooling would have coincided with
the beginning of the satellite records which from '79-'80 on showed warming in the Arctic.

All of the ice charts we are familiar with today begin '79-'80. They therefore show the peak of that cooling period
and which is used as a benchmark for 'normal' Arctic ice.

Then the next 3 or 4 decades would naturally show a warming trend and loss of ice; misinterpreted as "abnormal" warming.

See what they did there?

However now we are cooling again and it will take some clever
fudging of data to not show the downtrend.
