How the Chinese government might deal with the HK Uprising
I am an American who lived in the ROC and taught in Boston's Chinatown for several years. I also spent some time in Hong Kong.

I understand that many of the demonstrators realize that the protests cannot hope to gain much by simply marching through the streets; peaceful protests have historically gained their supporters little. However, the movement will never win by demanding 5 narrow goals selfishly for itself; it must become a movement that demands more democracy for itself and ALL of China, and invites the mainland Chinese to rise up along with it. This cannot be accomplished by attacking mainland Chinese and their businesses in Hong Kong. -This is attacking the very people whose support and sympathy you need for democracy to gain strength in China.

I don't know what the CCP will do in response to the protest's violence, but I'm sure they prefer to solve this without causing bodily harm because of international concerns. I suspect that they will eventually arrest all the protesters they can and send them to far-away provinces with no allowed return to Hong Kong, then replace the transplanted protesters with loyal Han Chinese, one-for-one, until the protests stop. The CCP has done this in the past to deal with other large provincial struggles.

What do you think Chinese government will do when they act?

What they'll do to the "protesters", I'm not sure.

But since there are strong rumors that the US CIA/NGO's are involved in some way (just like they have been doing in so many other places), I think China will pay us back at a time and place that suits them.

Wouldn't take much of a spark today in the US given the divide.
