I have Amazon Prime, yes I know they are da debil, but between the streaming, 2 day shipping, and free books and music, it works for me. I mostly watch old tv shows and Amazon has a lot of those that aren't on SJWflix.

You can always pay 4.99 a month for the 5 shows on Apple tv.

You guys are so full of knowledge, yet I'm like a three year old driving an F1 race car. Please break it down so I can understand all the terminology. Scrump says he pays $17/mo for Hulu, yet does it have to go through ROKU's $50/mo tv app? I'm confused about this.

VPN's, terabyte storage appartus's, steaming on the web. Ugh, my brain hurts. Could y'all spell is out in non-cryptic wording.

Get rid of the TVs for a year. Spend a year reading books, researching how unhealthy all the tech is, and what the potential for weaponizing it is. You probably won't go buy tv's at the end of the year.

stopped sat/cable a long time ago and stopped all movies and tv a year ago. stopped places like drudge a few months ago. I watch youtube and bitchute travel/cooking/alt news now. read the word and thats good enough for me.

Roku box that can be moved to either TV.
Netflix, Hulu and Amazon prime (put in my daughter's name because she qualifies for the student rate).
Antenna on the other TV.
More than enough to watch, and I don't watch much TV myself.

I have a Mohu antenna up high on my vaulted celing wall. i get 95 channels. I subscribe to Fubo TV,NFLX and Prime.
For Football season I also get Sling Orange (ESPN).

Since having stopped Movies & TV and some types of music I have noticed that even on YouTube now with their commercials they are trying desperately to push the LGBTQP agendas knowing that many on YT have stopped regular Pedowood crap. Now YouTube is going to close channels that are not monetized and are alt news and or spiritual/religious.

Off topic kinda, but what golf games do you play? Back when I was a kid I played msgolf99 and was briefly ranked #1 on the ladder system (the ranking system). Since then I played tiger woods but wasn’t particularly a fan of the Rory version.

Bingo. I felt alot more productive once I ousted the crap. Not bashing anyone who watches cable. After not having it for a few years when I go to someone's house and see whats on the boon tube I cant believe how terrible entertainment has become.

I cut the cord except for internet and put a long range antenna on my roof and grounded it. Connected it to my rg6 cable network wich is now sepaerate from my cable internet and now i get very good quality digital tv. I will eventually connect it to my computer to dvr jeapardy and a few other shows.

Cbs.com or the cbs app is pretty good to get most of the shows i watch on demand for free. I will subscribe though when the new startrek season is available.
Fox.com sucks.

I actually started paying the monthly fee for youtube and really get quite a bit out of it.

I dont do the cable option but that is there.

I really dont have much time for tv so cutting cable really was a good decision for me saving myself both time and money.

Comcast is a huge rip off for just cable and it is our only option. For our family needs, they want $99/month. Basic HD cable only runs us another $80 on top including equipment...

If we were to switch to just cable plus Internet TV, we would save around $15/month. I watch a lot of live sports so we would use FUBO TV which is $49/mo I believe. Then you add Netflix for the rest of the family, another $15.

Wish there was an alternate for Internet.

IMO, Paying for Amazon prime, Netflix or any other pay to view service is NOT cutting the cable.

I would have done this years ago but unfortunately just signed a new contract with Dish. Why? Because I live in Rural America on acreage. I used to run a rohn tower with a radio client to hook into the Internet a few years back. Then, the LEC finally deployed equipment to their central office allowing us to have 1990s tech ADSL. So I only get 2M download though wayyyyy more stable than radio.

Yes, I could deploy a satellite based Internet solution, but that jumps the bar wayyyyy up in terms of cost, and the associated latency (lag for the gamers out there) would piss off my kids severely for their Internet based gaming.

Point is, Rural America still doesn't have all the fiber and gigabytes of speed that the cities do. It is all very dependent on where one lives.

Some only have hulu, which is $6 a month, $6.50 with taxes.

Some only have prime, which is a little more than hulu.

That's pretty close to cutting the cord.

But agree, if you are getting multiple packages, it's getting really close to having cable.

Highspeed nternet connection is all one needs.
Still have unlimited data on my s9+ if I have to I can link or cast to a LCD TV.
Screw spoonfeedings of attempted network TV and cable network brainwashing.
Spend time in the woods and doing outside stuff too.

YouTubeTV is best bang for buck, if you want to stay legal.

Wi-Fi from cox, a vpn, a $20 set of rabbit ears and a Roku box. For channels I use Netflix, prime and Hulu. If needed you can attach an out door antenna into the outside like where your cable comes into the house. Be wary of your ISP, they know everything
