rather than open up the bible itself..

its because people are stupid and they need other people to give them opinions,formulation and how to live their lives.

its the whole idea of audiobooks,self help books,etc etc
to hear other people read or to hear other people say what you should do or say or feel.
and then call it ironically ''ive read that book'' or ''i helped myself''
