The wreaths that traditionally brightened Main Street during the holiday season will not be installed this year, Selig said. The working group viewed the wreaths as giving off too much of a Christmas overtone, and wanted to replace them with more generic decorations such as snowflakes or stars, Selig said. Unfortunately, that posed a financial problem this year, since money for new decorations was not included in the budget. “So no wreaths and no other decorations,” Selig said, but a $10,000 request has been included in the 2020 budget for new lighting. A sum of $6,000 also is included in the 2020 budget request to promote deeper community discussion of the event. You are CERTAINLY allowed to celebrate any way YOU want. Don't force others to though! I guess you can also argue the Grinch didn't steal Christmas since all the residents of Whoville still celebrated the next day. If you read the article, the town paid for Christmas wreaths and decorations that will not be displayed - all their tax dollars for town Christmas decorations wasted. To add further insult to injury, the leftist organizations that are pushing their communist agenda (NH Listens & Everyday Democracy) wants taxpayers to give them $6,000 "to promote deeper community discussion of the event". |

You are CERTAINLY allowed to celebrate any way YOU want. Don't force others to though! Exactly! Thats why the Liberals are doing it. By calling it "christmas" and putting up all these tradition decorations up in the community it singles out a pure Christian celebration. You sure do fit my definition of a Christian Conservative though. (I.E. not a good thing lol) |

Hopefully the public, at the Town Council, will express their concerns over this and let them know - You can take Christmas out of the town, but you can't take the town out of Christmas. Oh yeah, screw New Hampshire Listens!!! |

Wordsworth Well, democracy is simple majority rule, and since NH is 98 percent Christian and white, I think they are really a national partner in everyday communism. I think you're confusing the majority with mob-rule. There's also a Constitutional factor which must be determined, and so, majorities cannot rule simply because they're majorities. |

The puritans recognized it's pagan roots and refused to mix Satan with Christ. The Bible tells you how to worship God and Christmas is not in there. Don't add to the ways God wants to be worshipped. The Israelites added to the way God wanted to be worshipped at Mt Sinai (Golden Calf), How did that turn out for them? Don't fight for traditions of man and doctrines of demons. Stick to the Bible.
