The artic ice is sea ice. When it melts nothing rises.

Ice takes up more space than water. So if the ice melts, water levels would go down.

Fill up a glass with water and put ice cubes in it.


When they melt, the water level does not rise.

The water is already disppaces by the volume of ice cubes.
