Thank you OP, out of the blue and a worthy reminder. I have an issue with the repetitiveness, I feel that it is not necessary to become a parrot. Certainly, using the Rosary beads can deepen the prayer, but that prayer must not be from the lips but from the heart.

I get more out of praying once from the heart (with meaning) rather than rapid repetition as you do when praying on a rosary.

The Bishop in Rome didn't claim authority over the other churches either. It was done by EDICTS from Roman EMPERORS.

The Nicene Creed didn't exist until 380.

The congregation set up by Paul in Rome became a church with a bishop, just like dozens of others around the Mediterranean.

And ALL so-called early "popes" were basically nothing more than bishops, with no true authority over Christendom.

Only through subsequent Edicts did the church in Rome start claiming authority over the next several centuries.

The RCC truly didn't start grasping hold of the Catholic Empire until 445, when the emperor Valentinian III decreed that all western bishops must obey the pope.

Notice that BOTH Theodosius AND Valentinian III were EMPERORS.

NOT popes. Rome mere "back-dated" their line of popes, all the way to Peter.

Finally, it's ironic that prior to Constantine's Edict of making Christianity "legal", Roman authorities spent the previous 290 years persecuting Christians.

Beads have nothing to do with the Father hearing our prayers.

It isn’t in the words that make the rosary powerful although satan does glee from the our father and Hail Mary but the really powerful part is meditating on Jesus life and ministry. At least for me.
