After they are released, the 40 only get one hour to mess up the Earth before Jesus returns with 77,000 more, trained to be judges. Jesus destroys the wicked and their army with one word. Then they rise and get in line to be judged.

Jesus is here now. So is Uriel, Gabriel, Raphael and Gabriel. They never left.

With all due respect to both of you AC's.. for me, this is semantics.

The fact is there is a palpable cloud of darkness.. exerting itself over the earth (I'm in the U.S.) so I can only speak for this country, but we all know enough to know it is world wide.

It's the Final Countdown. Makes no matter to me really if "they" are internal or external. Their goal is the same IMHO.
