Anonymous Coward User ID: 75913449 United States 11/18/2019 11:10 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | You are going to have more socialism push from Millenials if you don't stop making rent and food prices so HIGH. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 73848670 Demand is making rent high. In SF-- highly paid software engineers are bidding up the prices of real estate in SF and Berkeley. Real estate taxes are also making the price of rent high. High taxation is fleecing landlords and tenants alike-- and it is spent on things like needle exchange and illegal alien college tuition --- that have no social benefit for taxpaying citizens. The solution to the housing issue is simple. Live further out and commute to your job in the city. Vote for lower real estate taxes. My baby boomer husband commuted 3 hours a day because we could not afford to buy a nice house closer in to NYC. Millennials-- you can't live in "the exciting city" because it is toooo expensive for you. Grow up and compromise. Many generations before you have had this problem also. Stop whining, and move far out of the city. Commute. Learn a language while you drive or take the train. You must learn to compromise with your lack of money-- work hard, save your money, commute-- and maybe buy a place in the city after you are established financially.. Socialism is only going to make your problems worse. |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 77699866 United States 11/18/2019 11:41 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Comparing the issues of SF with NYC doesn't work; NYC is still an amazing livable city. San Fran is 30 years ahead crisis wise. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 16762662 All the reasons I left NYC 30 years ago are in this video. This was near my neighborhood, which was much prettier and less high rises, just East of when he walks by Madison Square garden., in the East 20s which is called Gramercy area. If you had a real NYC apartment, it would be hard to leave it, but I just had a poor mans shithole so it was time to move on. Look at what I dealt with everyday. NYC was always very dark; dark hair, dark skin, dark environment, but amazingly Manhattan is mostly white. The dog shit, the gum on the sidewalks, the permanent scaffoldings, the smells, the overflowing garbage. Not worth it. In it's glory days, it was great. I used to walk home up 6th ave late at night and there would be not one person out, barely one or two cars. I got to experience that. Now it's a circus everywhere 24/7. NYC is getting strange.....new luxury condo buildings are being built across the street from government projects low income housing....the skid row Bowery is now full of clubs, restaurants, and hotels.....I own a building in Manhattan and friends think I'm crazy not living there.....I live across the river in a house.....too old for "bright lights, big city".....looking to move to the countryside for retirement in 2 years..... NYC bothers me.....socialist attitude from so called "woke" people.....I nod my head and smile the same way as if I'm talking with the mentally deranged.....a great majority doesn't know the issues except on an emotional level and they are vocal..... |

The darling of the socialist crowd Franklin D Roosevelt implemented the fifth plank of the communist manifesto. That the credit of the people is the property of the government with a central bank to administer the people's credit. You are not living in a capitalistic system where you own your money. The bankers love socialism where the people own nothing and they get to loan the collectivized credit back to the people. |

He is an intellectually dishonest, unprincipled, mentally immature, spoiled child who is forever in search of a world without moral consequence or personal responsibility. Quoting: Lex Talionis More and more people have to stop being passive about, much less warm-hearted towards, people of the left. The false, foolish belief that "hey, the intentions are good, aren't they? That's all that counts" is what has destroyed peoples and places. How many liberals - certainly hard-left ones but even plenty of soft liberals, even various "centrists" and a few soft conservatives - catch themselves going, "well Castro/Mao/Stalin may have been cruel, cunning and inhumane, but they did provide free healthcare and education to their people"? Or variations of "he at least kept the trains running on time." It's a given that liberals/leftists/progressives have had a soft spot in their heart for Bill/Hillary Clinton because, in their twisted minds, "hey, they may have grifted, they may have schemed and scammed, they may have groped and raped. But they did feel our pain." . "It's a given that liberals/leftists/progressives have had a soft spot in their heart for Bill/Hillary Clinton .." I would guess the reverse is also true. What you say above is true. Socialism has it's apologists but the hard truth is liberals despise freedom because they despise morality and the personal responsibility that makes morality essential and necessary to a successful life. This country lost it's moral compass long ago. Thus the decline in quality of life and the increased public celebration of anything and everything perverted and evil. Liberals are extremely intolerant concerning Christianity because of its insistence upon personal responsibility and moral absolutes. Most city council members and mayors are Liberals, even in Red states. Those governments put out regulations and taxes that increase housing costs and regulate new housing projects to keep profits up. They also restrict business growth,(both by increasing taxes and regulations) which is creating excess workers and thus decreasing wages. Basic economics, do you understand that? |
