That won't be an issue if society is collapsed. Neither will traffic. Claims that Alaska "planes and ships will likely no longer be making shipments, greatly limiting available resources". DUH? Obviously the authors weren't talking about a collapse, but something else. Bump for someone with brain cells |

And then more than half of them are on some kind of mood altering medications. Any high population liberal city will go ape shit first. In fact...many dem politicians have already told these wackos to start goin wacko over shit already. |
Anonymous Coward User ID: 72663097 United States 11/18/2019 08:55 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I wouldn't want to be anywhere near a large population center. I'm not too sure about their idea of Alaska being a bad idea. If you are prepared to live off the land, Alaska would be great. I will stay in the mountains and foot hills, but will probably move to the farm in western Nebraska since water is an issue here in Wyoming. The only problem I see is being less than 200 miles from Denver. That's why we have sensible gun laws. Quoting: Epic Beard Guy I would have rather stayed put in Alaska ,but LA is gonna be where the real action is and I plan to have a ring side seat. Anyone with prior Military experience and half a brain shout be able to make do anywhere. |

Obviously the authors weren't talking about a collapse, but something else. Unless you have food, ammo, water, medication, and whatever else out the ying-yang and have the people to defend it, there will be major issues most anyplace. Maybe a cabin way back in the mountains on a dirt road would minimize the problems until you run out of necessities. |

That won't be an issue if society is collapsed. Neither will traffic. Claims that Alaska "planes and ships will likely no longer be making shipments, greatly limiting available resources". DUH? Obviously the authors weren't talking about a collapse, but something else. No kidding. I always get a kick out of these prepper articles that assume, in a societal collapse scenario, society will continue somehow. If the power is out or the Chinese invade, there won't be any tax collector sending you a bill every year, the EPA will be the last of your concerns, and your rent payment just went to zero. I've even seen someone give prep advice to be debt free. What good is that going to do you when there are no credit card companies left to collect? In the Great Depression, most people lost their land and their homes due to not paying taxes or bank payments. Even though the banks were closed, and you couldn't make a payment even if you had the money, they still foreclosed on property. That is how the banksters, including the Rothschild led Federal Reserve Bank, came to own much of America. When the depression was over, the banks had all the property and the working people had nothing. It was the perfect setup for the globalist banksters to start another "Great War". Most American males needed a job, and being killed in the war meant their families would get the government insurance check. That is where the expression "bought the farm" comes from. When a man was killed in action, the insurance payment was just enough to pay off a small farm. That's true, but I don't consider the Great Depression to be "societal collapse" or an "end-of-the-world-like scenario." If he's talking about a severe economic downturn, he should say that. In an "end-of-the-world-like scenario," there are no banks to take your house, and no functioning courthouses or law enforcement to enforce it. Your points are also true, but it seems that the author of that article potentially means the end of our way of life as we know it, not a world-ending event. Say the government collapsed and we were invaded. That makes for a large power-vaccuum situation in which we could be taken over by some sort of socialist dicatorship that forces opponents into concentration camps and the rest to pay astronomically high taxes. Shit hitting the fan and the end of the world can mean a lot of different things to different people. |
