The 5 Places In America You DON’T Want To Be When Society Collapses

Here's the facts about surviving in Alaska. I lived there for several decades so I am definitely not an armchair survivalist.

It is a dangerous place. Yes, it is HUGE. But with nearly a million people, most Alaskan Natives hates the whites and all other minority sanctuary city urban dwellers (immigrants, minorities). The feelings are mutual. But the Natives have a much bigger chance of survival because they've been at it for generations.

There are limited roads in Alaska. One road in and out of the State. ALL vehicles require fuel of course. The distance between fuel depots are VAST and will probably be shut down during TEOTWASKI.

Alaska is EXPENSIVE. ALL food and necessities of life are either flown or shipped in EXCEPT those folks that can HUNT, GROW their own food (potatoes, etc.) in a very limited growing season, have extensive knowledge of the terrain (five temperate zones), know how to build shelters out of trees, snow caves, etc.

You must have survival medical skills and supplies. Constantly have your teeth and other health issues addressed and fixed. A tooth infection can kill you. Extra glasses, tons of extra clothing and ammo supplies. If you depend on a constant supply of medication, well..good luck.

Are you prepared to take on bears and moose? Coyotes? Wolves? Can you kill and dress a caribou? Do you know how to dry fish and store it? Do you know where the best fishing holes/rivers are? Do you know if someone is tracking you?

Do you know how to use a GPS locator or even a simple compass? Do you know how to read the night sky to get a fix on your position? How do you protect yourself against hordes of mosquitoes, ticks, much less the cold? I've been in -76 F weather. Incredibly cold. You'll die in ten minutes being exposed to that kind of extreme cold.

ALL of this because I guarantee you nobody is coming to save your rear end. Especially in Alaska.

In the Great Depression, it is true that roaming bans of desperate and hungry people went to farmers homes and demanded food. It happened to my grandparents in the Midwest with my grandfather waking up to a rifle in his face one night. My grandmother got up and made the intruder a sandwich and off he went. Happened many times.

What we never hear about it is how many people died in that man-made Depression.

There's a lot more to survival skills than simply thinking 'heading for the hills' with your rifle is going to be the end-all.

Why do you think Russia has prepared shelters for its people and the U.S.A. has....none?

You are on your own here. Are you really up to it and just want it all to go away and turn on the tube and see who is going to the playoffs, whatever.

Are you man enough to get up off the couch and start learning and practicing skills that can save you and your family? I would say if you're an average American, you haven't given it a single thought.

Oh look Wal-Mart and McDonalds is open.

They will know when the grocery stores run dry.

Was raised on a farm. I think it's kind of silly when people say they are prepped. The only way to survive a long breakdown with society is to have a small farm and enough people and firepower to kill anyone that comes close. It might be a good idea to have your friends come and live with you for extra hands and lookouts.
I suppose you could build a hidden underground vault with years of dried foods and water as well but that would be a horrible existence

Thinking that you are going to stay in your house in the suburbs and live off the bucket of MRE's in your closet is funny.

preppers will make great targets for the zombie hordes though.
