I disagree..one time I decided to drive I-80 from Cheyenne, Wyoming all the way to Cleveland, Ohio..then I change route into I-90 into New York state..the amount of farm land is very overwhelming...New York City is very small part of New York and the rest of New York is capable of supplying New York City...NYC is more dependant on the countryside then they will ever admit. Corn does not grow enough in the 5 burroughs

Lies by the pro-pot people:
1. Legalization will create freedom for those who use pot.
2. Legalization will not increase the number of people who use pot.
3. Legalization will decrease crime rate related to pot.
4. Legalization will increase tax revenues of local governments.

All false.

Money spent organizing the licenses and sale points of pot, growing restrictions and their enforcement costs will exceed tax generated funds to the State or local governments. It will COST your government money to legalize pot.

All of this is first hand knowledge of what is happening here in Canuckistan since legalization.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward

#4 is NOT FALSE!

Since pot was legalized in Colorado, the state has collected over $6.5 billion in taxes. I would gladly accept the false $6.5 billion into my bank account when they discover you said it was False.

It must be official. Monsanto controls every last pot seed.

Seeds that we used to throw away in the 1970's are for sale now for $25.00 EACH...on the internet.

It's good and all but from what I can see the states can still keep it illegal.

So many states are going to keep it illegal i'm sure, NC, florida, georgia for examples.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 42079668

I am in Missouri and we just legalized. I cannot imagine states NOT legalizing; big profit.

Our law allows for 10%, off the top, to go to our state Veterans home.
Being a veteran, I don't see how the V.A. cannot compromise, they are already being 'privatized'... they have no choice to 'compete' with the public.
I think this is great, as I suffer from Agent Orange and in 2018 had an attacked that put me in a walker. A friend suggested CBD oil and now I am on a cane!
I told my V.A. docs about it. They agree with medicinal value in cannabis.

The only thing that concerns me is the people that are backing this legislation and the legalization. I believe they believe, this is a 'backdoor' to gun restriction.
Silly dimwits, they do not understand what Natural Law is.

Big mistake. Marijuana is the gateway drug of use and now it will be the gateway drug for legalization. Drugs were made illegal for a good reason. They destabilize society. America doesnt need this. We are finished.

U.S. Lawmakers To Vote On MORE Act To End Federal Cannabis Prohibition

Washington, D.C. – The Executive Director of the National Organization to Reform Marijuana Laws (NORML) Erik Altieri, writes today that the United States will possibly experience Congress’ first vote to outright end federal marijuana prohibition. The House Judiciary Committee has posted a markup for bill HR 3884, the Marijuana Opportunity, Reinvestment, and Expungement (MORE) Act. The bill will potentially be subject to a vote occurring on Wednesday, November 20th, or shortly thereafter. ...

That was just a committee vote, so it still has to go the full house. Legislation is a really lengthy process.

thankyou,

just alot of confusion on this matter, many news outlets saying its was the final passage to the senate floor for vote, and they have 2 days to "clean" the bill. This bill has already been read twice, and had amendments already made, so was just wondering whats next.

Legal Pot will change everything for the better. It will make formally unlivable places, livable. Small towns everywhere will thrive, people will drink less, the potential is enormous. Young people won't have to crowd into the big cities anymore to enjoy their lifestyles; authorities won't have to waste billions harassing rec pot smokers. Prison overcrowding will ease, the whole thing is a win win.
The only losers are the ones profiting from everyones downfall. That has to stop, in fact private prisons and the like are unconstitutional if you ask me, and illegal.
