The Bush Family is NOT actually of the surname Bush at all. George H. W. Bush's real name given to him at birth in the early 1920s in Germany was George H. Scherf Jr.

In 1933, American financiers and business leaders plotted to overthrow U. S. President Franklin D. Roosevelt and install a fascist government in the U.S. Historically, this coup attempt is referred to as The Business Plot. Prescott Sheldon Bush was one of the unsuccessful coup plotters.

At age 16, having already served a short stint in the German Navy, George H. W. Bush was handpicked by Adolph Hitler to travel with his father, George H. Scherf Sr., to New York City.
