The sum shrinks every month, if you slack, until they pull it completely. 50 000 jobs sounds bloody massive, though :O |

Paying 3 people $5/hr to do minimum knowledge/minimum effort jobs like raking leaves or picking up trash would make more sense, IMO, than paying 1 guy $15/hr. _______________ They let me off with a warning and a couple of bullet holes. |

So, it really only assisted people between jobs. Now, as long as they work 20 hours per week they can stay on food stamps indefinitely. So fo all you that think that a bunch of lazy people was just collecting food stamps indefinitely doing nothing... You have been had. It is a huge improvement on who is able and allowed to collect food stamps, and for how long. And the left is playing like it is awful to scare people and the right think that these people are being made to work when they worked most the time already. Yes, all those college students with part-time jobs can apply now too. Wait until they realize this around election time. Free food for everyone, except people working full-time making more than $13,000 per year. |

Anyone, especially college students could qualify. The program is actually an expansion provided to you if you work 20 hours per week. |

"If your income is less than 1.5 times the federal poverty rate, you are categorically eligible for food stamps" I think the Federal poverty rate is right around 12,500 a year, so 1.5 times that is over 18,000 a year. |
