Quoting: Anonymous Coward 76724217 I think that speaks for itself, really. My doc, I call her a doc, is a nurse practioner and she is the best, wouldn't trade her for any real doctor. She's cured like five people of diabetes. I was lucky to find her. A coward dies a thousand times, but the valiant need taste of death but once. Fear cuts deeper than swords. #Notmypresident. |

Quoting: ~Newton's Own~ I was diagnosed type 2 with an a1c of 13. I was put on metformin 1000 twice a day and advised to change my diet and excercise more. They wanted to put me on insulin but I couldn't afford it. Lemme tell you how I beat it. I went down to one low fat, low carb meal a day in the evening and took my meds. I also walked 20 mins per day rain or shine. At first the hunger was hard to deal with but I didn't want to be on insulin, so I endured. 3 months later I had an a1c test and it was a 5.4. 3 months later its still 5.4 and my doctor, shocked, tells me my diabetes is cured and puts me on half meds to wean me off. If you have diabetes, you can do it too. Not saying this formula will work for everyone, but it worked for me. Any questions I'd be glad to answer. God be with everyone suffering this disease, my heart is with you too. Great job. I hope more people are inspired by your success. Can you describe what you would typically eat in day before you were diagnosed and then what you typically eat today? Have you lost significant weight? What kind of symptoms were you experiencing when you knew there was a problem? Oh Lord, I had a terrible diet. Too much fast food, sodas, I loved sweets and was about 20lbs overweight. I went down to one meal a day, crock pot chicken and asparagus usually, my favorite, and exercise. I didn't eat well but now that I do it has changed everything. I eat no sugar whatsoever besides maybe a bit sized snickers every now and then. The great thing is that with this diagnosis my whole family is eating better now, I'm training my kids to eat right, as diabetes runs in my family. Its been a win-win. In many ways, I can say this diabetes thing has helped my whole family. God is great! It would be a nice incentive for people to do what you did, not just for their sake and that of their family, if there was a reduction in one's personal health insurance costs. Like say for example, how car insurance goes down in price, after 23. Or least it did in my time. Not sure if that is still the case. If you are are fit, there should be an incentive. Too little incentive today, for people to stay fit and the skyrocketing price of insulin a major indicator. Difficulties strengthen the Mind as labor does the body... ~Seneca |

In America we're brainwashed to think we need three huge meals a day and that's just not true. I make it just fine on one, better than I've ever felt. I thank God for giving me diabetes, as Wierd as that sounds. My whole family eats less and better now. A coward dies a thousand times, but the valiant need taste of death but once. Well..you can't blame people for following what they thought they were suppose to do. Like you said stuffing 3 large meals down, every day. But you can blame them for not taking responsibility for themselves, when they noticed the problem. People don't need anywhere near that amount of food.. I like to think of eating something, say a sweet potato with butter and cottage cheese, and remind myself that the balanced nutrition in that one meal, would have been rather unmatched, just 100 years ago. Just 1 potato and fat and protein 100 years ago, would have been pretty tough to swing without some wealth and means to acquire.. Or else the labor which comes with farming.
