Texas property taxes are sky high and so are school taxes

We just moved here (Tarrant County) but what stands out to us is the obsession with high school sports here.

They literally have stadiums like I have only seen on college level for high schools and middle schools. They apparently also have turfed areas inside the schools so that the players can practice even when it is cold.

And, people care far less about academics than sports. When you ask about a certain school, they can recite where their sports team placed last season but know nothing about SAT or ACT scores, class sizes, or anything else.

It's truly strange.

IF the schools didn't all have to have this crazy sports system, taxes would be lower.

That is a stupid statement

Renters Pay the TAXES the owners pay when they pay rent...duh!

Profit and taxes are built into the rent cost !!!!
