I heard an interesting story about Osiris and his brother Set. When Set was trying to kill Osiris he took refuge on an island and built djed pillars/towers all around the perimeter of the island which acted as a defensive weapons system. They got blown to smitherines and Osiris ended up dead but interesting use for the djed pillars nevertheless
