(OP) User ID: 77354011 United States 11/24/2019 08:51 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Consider this example from the testimony of acting ambassador to Ukraine William Taylor–– which the mainstream press hyped as a “bombshell,” and whom Noon praises as an exemplar of professionalism––as summarized by David Marcus in the New York Post: “He said David Holmes, a counselor for political affairs at the US embassy in Kiev, told him that he had overheard a phone conversation between Ambassador Gordon Sondland and President Trump.” In what courtroom other than the old Soviet Union or Cuba today would this twice-removed hearsay be admitted? in Washington of the libs? (snip) from OP's link ..."Rick McHale: Yes, excellent work. The criticisms can be distilled down into one word, arrogance. Democrats, liberals and leftists have completely underestimated President Trump's abilities and continue to do so, hopefully, right on through the 2020 election. Their arrogant dismissals, of virtually anyone who disagrees with their increasingly insane beliefs, will be their downfall, irregardless of which candidate eventually wins their nomination. − El Cid: I would add, that there is a lot of 'dead wood' in the foreign service and the intelligence service. There are bureaucracies that exist only to serve their own interests. This can be deduced from the first rule of Organizational Development, namely, if illegitimate power exists, it WILL be abused (note: Not COULD, but WILL). Besides the control of insider information and informal power relationships, the source of illegitimate power relates to lack of accountability, no one getting fired for cause, and people being promoted for being there long enough. They are free to dabble in partisan politics with no consequences. It was reported that Gen. Flynn planned to call for the resignations and letters from each of the heads of departments in the intelligence agencies explaining what they do and why they should continue doing it. (No wonder they put him in jail.) My professional opinion is that 80 percent could be fired for cause with no impact on the function of the government except to make it more efficient, and potentially under the right leadership, more effective. If Trump is re-elected, I would like Flynn in place, and I would like to see 1000 people fired for cause a week, while their access to mediation is slow walked until their assets are depleted."... For those who believe, no proof is necessary. For those who don't believe, no proof is possible. (Stuart Chase) It's easier to fool people than to convince them that they have been fooled. Quoting: beeches That's too vague a description of what fuels such people like Noonan. In a nutshell, they're more idiotically liberal/leftwing than they want to admit to or realize. To spend any time bitching about people who are mainly socially, politically conservative, while being passive towards people of the left - particularly in today's America - is similar to a teacher scolding a student for showing up to school 2 minutes late while ignoring all her students in the corner of her classroom who are doing drugs and having sex. No, Peggy, your "kinder, gentler" conservatism is mainly meaner, harder liberalism. Being kind to the cruel (the leftwing) and cruel to the kind (sane, humane Americans) is non-compassionate. Which is what you are, Noonan. . |
