Kituwa is the site of an ancient earthwork mound, built by about 1000 CE. The Cherokee hold the site sacred. In accordance with sustainable farming practices and/or ceremonial regulations, the vegetation on the mound was burned repeatedly by the Cherokee for agriculture during the time of European encroachment. Since the invasion of the Cherokee Nation in the 1830s and forced removal, the area has been plowed over for corn cultivation. None the less, the mound is still visible.

During the period of European-American agricultural uses, the larger property was called Ferguson's Field. The mound is 170 feet (52 m) in diameter and five feet tall, although it was once taller. The Cherokee built a structure on top that housed their sacred flame, which was to be kept burning at all times.[2]

During a guided tour of the monastery's museum, in the last display case before the exit, something caught Dall'Armellina's attention: a metal sword, about 17 inches long, resembling those she came across in her studies as a Bronze Age weaponry specialist.

"I noticed it immediately," she told CNN. The sword was labeled as a medieval artifact, but Dall'Armellina had a hunch that the object was much older than that.
She was correct. Two years worth of research confirmed the sword is among the most ancient ones ever found, dating as far back as 5,000 years ago.

"Swords are objects loaded with symbolic value," Professor Elena Rova, who supervised Dall'Armellina's doctoral research, told CNN.
"They signify royalty, and a ruler's right to sovereignty -- take for example the legend of King Arthur. While this symbolism is well documented in medieval times, it has roots in much more ancient traditions," Professor Rova added.

Last night, had indigenous dream where this guy dug a shape into the ground near an earthwork structure, then the movements beyond by them was noticed a track.
