192.x.x.x is reserved private address space, which means nothing connects to it directly. It has to use NAT to get out to the public internet. From there, a specific dynamically assigned port is used to get traffic back from the sites and services you visit.
Blocking your own internal IP address accomplishes nothing but making it harder for you to use your device.
Also, nothing can randomly connect to your private IP space because it's not routable across the public internet.

Once you have a connection with their servers, they use websockets to send updates about their service back to you. Like, new images or likes/follows/new comments/whatever.. If you exit the app or close the browser tab, it stops communicating.
