Tell the farmers and ranchers to pull their heads out of their asses and start letting the hunters back in FOR FREE to wipe out pig populations. Otherwise, field damage, deaths, animal and human injuries and other forms of loss are just getting started. |

Some of these wild species need to be managed. Quoting: GA Girl It's open season year round on wild hogs. People out to take advantage of that. They can put a dent in your freezer bill. Absolutely!!! Tastiest swine I have ever had!!! Bf's uncle took one out last year and passed it around to us in the family. There was PLENTY to go around! I am about to drool thinking about it...ha ha ha!!! They do ask that you don't hunt them here because when you kill one it scatters the sounder to other areas. I have not seen any in my part of the world, but maps show they are all around my county You have to train your mind to be stronger than your emotions or you will lose yourself every time |

It is the big fat guys and older hogs that are often heavily diseased. We shoot them all, but only eat the smaller guys. |

I chuckled a bit and thought that is a dangerous thing to tell the public. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 72497887 Two weeks ago the DNR began telling Deer Hunters to shoot Hogs on site. This is the same Wi DNR that ridiculed folks who had photos and hair samples of a mountain lion here in Wisconsin about 8yrs ago. Anonymous Coward User ID: 78181795 United States 11/26/2019 10:29 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | A woman was attacked and killed by a group of feral hogs Sunday morning outside the Southeast Texas home where she worked as a caretaker, authorities said. Quoting: HAWK-03 Chambers County Sheriff Brian Hawthorne said in a press conference Monday that Christine Rollins, 59, arrived around 6 to 6:30 a.m. when she was attacked at the Anahuac home, located 40 miles east of Houston. The 84-year-old woman who has been under her care for almost two years went outside and found Rollins in the front yard between her car and the front door, Hawthorne told reporters. He said Rollins had a severe head wound and several other injuries consistent with different sized bites indicating multiple animals were involved. [link to www.yahoo.com (secure)] How could one be stupid enough to get out of their car when they see a pack of hogs? I guess some people are just still unaware of the danger some animals present. Perhaps she only heard about "pot bellied pigs" as pets. I was warned early on in my life and through reading books, that wild hogs are dangerous. I wouldn't even trust a pack of domestic hogs. I was told, they will eat you. Do you have any idea how fast feral hogs are? They could run down the world record holder for the 100 yard dash. |

This is one thing pit bulls are good for. Hog hunting. This is the one and only thing pit bulls are good for. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 51750288 Feral hogs are considered vermin here n TX, no hunting license need to bust their asses. Same in my state. No hunting license and you can hunt them 24/7 year round by any method. I know several huntets that has spent thousands of dollars on night vision goggles, night vision scopes, etc just to hunt them. |
Anonymous Coward User ID: 75187366 United States 11/26/2019 10:35 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | The problem is, farmers, ranchers and other land owners realized there was profit to be made from these things. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 25460493 Some do. I have found the wild hogs that I have killed on ranches and farms that have been living on mostly barley and corn generally taste better than the ones I have killed in the woods that have been living mostly on acorns and anything else they can scavage. |
