Quoting: Anonymous Coward 51750288 Shooting wild pigs is not animal cruelty. Animal cruelty is leaving a dog chained to a tree with no food or water outside in the elements heat or cold. That is one example. Bingo! |

Quoting: MissCleo I've seen videos of hog hunters who take dogs out to kill the feral hogs, which has become a serious problem. The dogs get torn up by those hogs. It's very gruesome. Why can't they just go out and shoot them and eat them? 1. From what I understand, the meat is not good. 2. I know several ranchers, along with their hands, who go up in helicopters, and shoot as many as they can get. Have taken out entire herds, but the damn things breed with reckless abandon. Sadly, even the coyotes cannot thin these things out. More likely the pigs get the coyotes, than the other way around. Well lets give them 2 thumbs up for being strong and willing to live unlike most weak ass humans these days! Texas ranchers are pretty ballsy. Quoting: HAWK-03 Chambers County Sheriff Brian Hawthorne said in a press conference Monday that Christine Rollins, 59, arrived around 6 to 6:30 a.m. when she was attacked at the Anahuac home, located 40 miles east of Houston. The 84-year-old woman who has been under her care for almost two years went outside and found Rollins in the front yard between her car and the front door, Hawthorne told reporters. He said Rollins had a severe head wound and several other injuries consistent with different sized bites indicating multiple animals were involved. This is one thing pit bulls are good for. Hog hunting. You send a pitbull to attack a fully grown feral hog, you're sending it to it's death. I've known guys who hunt hog with 44 cal pistols because of how thick their hides are. Ferocious critters. They hunt hogs here in S Florida. I know several peps who do. They use Catahoula dogs(which I have one as my best friend), to flush the hogs out, then a group of 3 pits bring them into manageable position for the gun to do its work. The dogs all wear kevlar vests. and rarely get really hurt. The hogs...not so much. |

You should ask Merit about his idea to keep me safe from wild hogs on a property I wanted him to buy. It was out in the country and I expressed concern about being harassed by wild hogs while he is at work or hogs wrecking the garden and he came up with a plan. :awakenthemoon: Repugnant is the creature who would squander the ability to lift an eye to heaven, conscious of their fleeting time here |

So now, instead of THEM paying YOU to kill them, they expect YOU to pay THEM. And it isn't cheap. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 77704310 You want to fix the problem? Tell the farmers and ranchers to pull their heads out of their asses and start letting the hunters back in FOR FREE to wipe out pig populations. Otherwise, field damage, deaths, animal and human injuries and other forms of loss are just getting started. Ironic thing is the hunters caused this problem to begin with -- pigs were brought into Texas from somewhere else to be hunted some escaped and now we have this infestation to deal with Yet another stupid man-made problem |

If you manage to survive and kill it the term they will use when describing you is "life changing injuries" We have a wild pig problem with rewilding in the Forest of Dean in the UK.. I was kinda interested in hunting one until I saw a couple of videos.... I'll probably have a go with a spear, but a big Bowie knife? Not a chance. I wanna eat it and test myself a bit by hunting it with a bit of honour, I don't want to end up in intensive care for what's essentially some nice sausages. |

The hunter in the second attack that jumps waves his gun all over the place during the entire sequence, in the third video the guy shoots the hog only inches from his hunting partner. Some of those hunters are more dangerous to each other than the hogs themselves. I am Billy Ringo and I approve of this message. Paid for by belligerent derelicts for Ringo. |

I chuckled a bit and thought that is a dangerous thing to tell the public. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 72497887 Two weeks ago the DNR began telling Deer Hunters to shoot Hogs on site. This is the same Wi DNR that ridiculed folks who had photos and hair samples of a mountain lion here in Wisconsin about 8yrs ago. A couple months later and a 150lb cat was shot by Chicago Police in broad daylight a block from an elementary school with children present. When its DNA were compared to the Wisconsin cat samples, it was and exact match. Link to YouTube vid of Chicago Police Killing Mountain Lion: [link to www.youtube.com (secure)] MAGA We live in the midst of many hog confinement buildings in rural Iowa. Custom feeding is the new money maker. We’ve seen dead hogs on the roads, that have escaped. Hogs are very intelligent. The only domesticated animal that can reason. They can be toilet trained in 2 weeks, smarter than the average dog. They are nothing to mess with. Don’t let the DNR tell you it’s not a problem. They are the same people that have allowed the deer population to get so out of control that you can’t drive anywhere after dark and not come close to smucking at least one. If it is done with courage, it leads a heart home.~Sheila Moon And by and by Christopher Robin came to the end of things, and he was silent, and he sat there, looking out over the world, just wishing it wouldn't stop. Smartest animals I ever worked around. A dog would starve and thirst to death before it learned to use the things domestic hogs do to eat and drink. So smart they can go feral virtually over night. |

User ID: 75247107 United States 11/26/2019 02:30 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Most hogs are shot and left where they lay. If someone plans on eating a hog they usually trap it and grain feed it a few days so the meat tastes a bit better. You seem to have bias against Texans. Real world, a woman died. The community (made up of people with thoughts and emotions) would be upset by this and likely organize a hunt to take out as many hogs as they can in the area. And no, they will not eat them. And ranchers do let people they know hunt hogs on their properties - for free, or even pay them. I have gone hunting a number of times on a friend of a friends ranch doing that. But they don't want strangers on their land shooting up the place killing whatever moves. Rules were simple - No drinking til afterwards, No AR's, AK's or rifles since his property was not that large, bring 4 wheelers back in 1 piece. trolls vs bots - we live in a scifi world |
