I watch everyday as they blow everything relating to moisture away from SoCal.

They have torched us, so now it’s time to flood us.

Just get the job done, no light rain, just flood us.

Weaponized weather warfare is getting real old.

That's after very loud thunder (we almost never get thunder and lightning).

If these forecast models hold, looks like Santa Bararbara to LA area could get some really heavy rain, will cause mudslides especially in burned areas,

Re: Heads Up CA Heavy Rain-Snow Headed your way!
Thanksgiving travel hell: Large swathes of the US are paralyzed as 30 INCHES of snow falls in Colorado and a 'bomb cyclone' pummels the Northwest - closing interstates and canceling flights as 55 million set off for the holidays

Two major winter storms are set to disrupt the travel plans of millions of Americans headed to Thanksgiving Day destinations on jam-packed highways and airplanes across the western two-thirds of the US Wednesday
Snow is falling fast in southern Minnesota, where 12 inches or more is expected during the busy travel period
More than a foot of snow is also forecast in parts of Wisconsin on Wednesday, with schools canceling classes
And in Kansas roads are partially or completely snow covered after a storm dumped more than five inches
Thousands are also without power in Missouri Wednesday morning as high winds whip across the state
And forecasters say possible tornadoes struck communities in Mississippi and Louisiana overnight
The Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade in NYC is also under threat as organizers prepare for the possibility that they'll have to ground the iconic balloon characters, given 40-50 mph gusts in the forecast
A total of 491 flights in and out of the Denver airport were canceled and more than 700 flights were delayed
The storm set to batter the Northwest through Wednesday has been labeled 'historic and unprecedented'
By the weekend, the intense weather is expected to move toward the East Coast, according to forecasters

Atmospheric river to follow 'bomb cyclone' in California as December begins

Soon after the 'bomb cyclone' pushes east of the Rockies, a new storm will approach the West Coast of the United States this weekend to set the stage for more rounds of heavy rain and mountain snow in California.

The storm will hinder return trips from Thanksgiving vacation as well as the resumption of daily commutes next week.

The weather setup will make the ignition of wildfires unlikely and may even put an end to the risk through the rest of the year. However, enough rain can fall to unleash urban flooding and lead to debris flows in recent burn scar locations, including the Kincade Fire that burned over 77,000 acres in Sonoma County, California, earlier this autumn.. .

‘Atmospheric River’ to Bring Nearly 7 Feet of Snow to NorCal Mountains Through Monday

Here we go again. Northern California welcomed winter in a fantastic way Thanksgiving week, with a “bomb cyclone” storm bringing massive snowfall throughout the area, causing significant holiday traffic delays. Now, just a couple days later, winter is bringing another big storm that will blanket NorCal with A LOT more snow.

The National Weather Service released it’s forecast for the Sierra Nevada mountains, claiming the incoming atmospheric river could bring nearly 7 of snow over 48 hours. High elevation areas like Donner and Carson Pass could see 4 feet, while Lassen Peak could see up to 80 inches.. .

Notorious storms getting worse, cause billions in damage across California

Atmospheric river storms like the one pounding California this week are becoming more intense and cost Western states roughly $1 billion in damage annually, according to a report on the weather phenomenon.

The storms, which carry moisture from the tropics to the mid-latitude regions, have caused some of California’s biggest deluges. But when a storm passes, what’s left in its wake?

In the study published Wednesday in the journal Science Advances, scientists found that from 1978 to 2017, atmospheric rivers caused $42.6 billion in flood damage in 11 Western states — 84% of the estimated total water-related damage of $50.8 billion. That’s roughly $1.1 billion in damage done by atmospheric rivers every year.

“Research has shown that these storms are going to become more intense over the coming decades,” said Tom Corringham, one of the authors of the study by the Scripps Institution of Oceanography at UC San Diego and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers.. . .

A fierce storm caused water to pour down the stairs of Van Ness Muni station in San Francisco on Saturday, prompting a station closure due to flooding.
Video taken by Brian Sheehan shows rain water creating a waterfall of one stairway and gathering on the platform of the Muni Metro station. Up above, rain was also flooding the streets and the Twin Peaks tunnel. Around 3:30 p.m. — right as the National Weather Service was issuing a flood warning for San Francisco — Muni was forced to shut down service between West Portal and Embarcadero stations.
