Go down to the coast with a telescope that is capable of at least seeing craters on the moon. Start with it's weakest magnification(working stronger as needed), and see if you can see a continent that is far enough away, that it should be obscured by the curvature of the earth. If you can't, it proves there is at least a curvature to earth. If you can, it's flat as a pancake.

Also think about it this way, if you're in a large enclosed trailer, hooked to a truck driving a consistent 70 MPH on the highway, and you take a running jump from one end to the other, the truck doesn't go speeding away the second your feet leave the floor. Because the truck is going 70 MPH, and so are you.
