Said there was some thing i needed to see. So during lunch i went with him to see a two year old Corvair Van. I had never seen a van before. He suggested that i buy it and he would even loan me the cash to do so. Which was about $800. I drove and camped out in it for 20 years and sold it at a profit. Then bought a one year old chevy van for about 5 grand. And drove it for 25 years. The speedomitor turned over about three times. LOL My experience with cars was pretty much the same. Back in the day cars did not cost that much and if You took care of Them they would pretty much run for ever. Or atleast decades. A year ago i bought a car with a name i can't spell or even pronounce correctly. I have tried to take care of it but it is still in the shop more than it is not. And The G. D. thing cost a F-word fortune. A few months ago the ignition key would not work. It cost over a 1000 dollars to fix it and it was in the shop for over a month. Many of my friends have bought horses and carriages. As they think that the Amish have the right idea !!! And to be honest i tend to agree ..... |

Nissan and Toyota are junk toy trucks buy a GMC or Ford they will go 300k with no work done at all I've had friends with those and I feel like I'm a joke in themnot to mention one with a Toyota had the block replaced at 80k Ask any real mechanic or someone who owns fleet vehicles and they will tell you GM is junk. Nissan is junk also these days. Ford (V8) or Toyota are the best trucks you can buy. Yes, the Toyota may not have the payload or towing capacity of the Ford but different people have different needs/uses for their truck. Lopping Toyota & Nissan together is ridiculous as is lopping GM & Ford together. Totally different quality trucks. |

Looks doesn't matter. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 77994583 Had a 1987 Mercedes sdl 300 diesel. Bought it for $1,100 with 295,000 miles on it. Put another 150,000 on it. Probably only put $1,000 into it. Taxes were $15 a year. The car got a fender bender while parked once. The insurance cut me a check for about $700. The car was so old you could take a single fuse out and the odometer would stop working. Best car I ever had. Still ran when I got rid of it. Only downfall...the ladies weren't having it. Every chick I met hated it. But I figure driving around in a Tesla is like having a bullseye on your back. People who drive around in new, fancy cars are adorned; right? |
