It most likely means that if Trump is impeached he will be hung and Obama will regain office for eternity or until global warming destroys the Earth.

I don't know what the rule would be. But if an impeached president was able to try again, normally there would be a huge stigma attached to his candidacy. Wouldn't there? I mean, didn't Nixon pretty much disappear? (Was before my time.)

The 22nd amendment says that a president can only be elected twice. An impeachment doesn't annul an election result. So no, he wouldn't get to run a third time.

If a bill of impeachment is issued in the House there is a trial in the Senate where, and I could be off a bit here, 2/3 vote is needed to remove him from office.

For high crimes. The sort of which would preclude him running for office.

In theory if Pence became President tomorrow he could run for President being President for 9 plus years, the most since FDR. Once you pass the halfway mark of a 4 year term the succeeding VP can then run twice in his own right.

Had he succeeded Trump say in 2017 or 2018 Pence could only get elected in 2020 and not be able to run in 2024.

After January 20, 2019 if succeeding Trump then, he (Pence) could run twice and serve two more full four year terms.

Trump can only run once more no matter what happens.
