This is absolutely correct. Not so much different types, but sometimes prostate cancer is very aggressive. Mine was caught early, but very aggressive. I educated myself and found a urologist I trusted. I had a simple choice; we had one shot at beating it, and that was with a radical prostatectomy - surgical removal of the prostate gland. I chose to do battle with prostate cancer and won - 10 years post-surgery, cancer free, and undetectable PSA. If I took the attitude in the OP here I would have died long ago!

Generally speaking, prostate cancer is slow growing, and some can do "watchful waiting" - regular PSA testing to monitor growth. Moral: everyone is different, so don't listen to those who say it is always slowing growing, etc. Get educated, find a urologist you can trust, and follow his/her recommendations.
