This country has one of the biggest marian sanctuaries in the world, Fátima, and yes they do! Portuguese Catholics and Catholics that come from everywhere in the world. You can even watch lots of people crawling on the ground there, and walking on their knees to the blood, because they either are praying or have prayed and believe their prayers were answered. Oh no, they don’t! Please don't try and deny something that I know for a fact since I was born. People do pray to Mary. It is a common thing. All popes since Paul the 6th, with the exception of John Paul I, have been there and prayed to Mary in public. Please don’t refute official Catholic Church teaching and then tell me that I’m the one who’s wrong. Catholic Church teaching is very clear, we do not worship or deify Mary. False narrative created by baptists?? Care to back that up with some facts! Baptists don;t even like Mary or recognize her that much Quoting: KuvaszLove Let me enlighten you: If you want a miracle you pray to Mary, Mary mother of Miracles was granted a miracle by Jesus upon her request to turn water into wine at a wedding. Jesus did not want to perform a miracle for a bunch of drunks but Mary asked and he said, "Woman, I cannot refuse you!" He will never refuse Mary, YOU yes, but never Mary. So therefore if you want a miracle you go to Mary. The reason Mary knew Jesus had that those alchemy abilities is because Mary and Joseph had just picked up Jesus from his temple studies in the pyramid on the way to the wedding, they had run out of water in the desert but from what Jesus learned Alchemy wise in his studies he was able to make water for them. This is why Mary knew she could ask Jesus to help out at the wedding. Mary loves all her children, put your faith in miracles in Mary. The first thing the Pope does when he enters the church, the very first thing he does is bow down to Mary, The baptists hate this because their whole philosophy in male dominated, I know this from living in Florida Mary is dead...Jesus is not. Mary means nothing...Jesus means all. I will pray to Jesus. |

Your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors. Your connection to God comes from the holy spirit, the holy spirit was bestowed upon man because of the blood sacrifice of Jesus, so because of Jesus you have a direct connection to God that humans didn't have before Jesus was sacrificed. This is so the Church can control their constituents by claiming only the church leaders have the authority of interacting with God. With no where else to turn, as it is an established tenet of the church and is firmly reinforced by church teachings they must remain loyal or suffer the wrath of God for unsolved sins. This includes pentinance for the sin established by a man, includes fees from approved and often unapproved Papal authorities which are often forged so local Dioceses and Priest can sustain life styles of the rich and famous Quoting: Anonymous Coward 76509910 Yes indeed. It's a negative stereotype and false narrative created by Baptists. I challenge Anyone! A simple google search and a minute of reading will tell you that. Unbelievable. 1. Jesus NEVER said "pray to me" NOR "worship me". 2. Jesus NEVER said "pray to the Holy Spirit" NOR "worship Holy Spirit". 3. Jesus NEVER said "pray to / worship the trinity". 4. Jesus NEVER said to pray to ANYONE other than the Father. 1)Matthew 14:33: And those in the boat worshiped him, saying, “Truly you are the Son of God.” Matthew 28:9-10: And behold, Jesus met them and said, “Greetings!” And they came up and took hold of his feet and worshiped him. Matthew 28:16-17: Now the eleven disciples went to Galilee, to the mountain to which Jesus had directed them. 17 And when they saw him they worshiped him, but some doubted. Luke 24:51: While he blessed them, he parted from them and was carried up into heaven. 52 And they worshiped him and returned to Jerusalem with great joy John 9:37-38: Jesus said to him, “You have seen him, and it is he who is speaking to you.” 38 He said, “Lord, I believe,” and he worshiped him. Hebrews 1:6: And again, when he brings the firstborn into the world, he says, “Let all God’s angels worship him.” Revelation 22:3: No longer will there be anything accursed, but the throne of God and of the Lamb will be in it, and his servants will worship him. 2) John 14:16 "I will ask the Father, and He will give you another Helper, that He may be with you forever; John 14:26 "But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, He will teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all that I said to you. John 15:26 "When the Helper comes, whom I will send to you from the Father, that is the Spirit of truth who proceeds from the Father, He will testify about Me, John 16:7 "But I tell you the truth, it is to your advantage that I go away; for if I do not go away, the Helper will not come to you; but if I go, I will send Him to you. John 16:8 "And He, when He comes, will convict the world concerning sin and righteousness and judgment; “At that time Jesus, full of joy through the Holy Spirit, said, ‘I praise you, Father, lord of heaven and earth, because you have hidden these things from the wise and learned, and revealed them to little children. Yes, Father, for this was your good pleasure’” (Luke 10:21). 3} 19 Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 17 Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom. 14 May the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit be with you all. |

I don't care about what they say, I care about what they do. In fact, in everyday life, they do pray to Mary. It's a constant for millions and millions, not some "freak accident" happening with a few people. Since you advised me to "google it", I do the same: just google "pope praying mary" and "pope praying fatima" and then tell me what you see. You can as well search in youtube and listen to several popes clearly praying to Mary. |

It's a negative stereotype and false narrative created by Baptists. I challenge Anyone! Ok, testimony time. I'm a cradle Catholic. I was born and raised in the faith. I prayed, I went to mass and received the sacraments. In my early 20's I was becoming somewhat lukewarm. I did go to church, but I was beginning to miss Sunday mass, which I'm sure you're aware is a mortal sin for Catholics. Out of concern for my well being, my father confronted me about it and as a result I reconsidered going back to mass regularly, but first I wanted to pray on it. At the time I didn't have much of a prayer life, but I had heard that the rosary was a good way of getting your prayers answered so I took a step of faith and started praying the rosary. I prayed with the intention to feel a love for God because as I just mentioned, I was lukewarm. I started praying the rosary every night before bed for the intention of feeling love for God. Two weeks later, I'm still praying it every night, but this night something special happened. I'm getting close to finishing the rosary for the night, when I feel this gentle peace come over me. I couldn't help but smile as I finished the rosary. As I finished the rosary I was suddenly filled with this incredible and beautiful love of God that I had never felt before. At the same time I felt remorse for my sins and I was sobbing with tears of joy as this was occurring. This grace from God lasted a few minutes and I distinctly remember feeling a great desire to go to Heaven and be with the lord and the saints. This love I felt was so wonderful that I really didn't mind if I had died and gone to Heaven right there and then. Once you have a taste of Heavenly love, what you experience on Earth is nothing by comparison. I did not expect it, but this was a very direct and powerful answer to my prayers. Needless to say I'm dedicated to praying the rosary these days, at least once a day if not more. The takeaway from this is that Mary is alive in Heaven and she prays for us and hears our prayers. She takes our prayer intentions to Jesus. I just wanted to share my very personal, but life changing experience with praying the rosary. Thanks for reading. It's a negative stereotype and false narrative created by Baptists. I challenge Anyone! Once and for all, for the record Catholics do not pray to Mary. They don't ask Mary to forgive them of their sins, they don't ask Mary to help them get a new job, they don't worship Mary as their savior, they don't think Mary is the only way to heaven, they pray that Mary heals their cancer, they don't pray to Mary to bless them... Quoting: Anonymous Coward 74568952 As you can see below, this is exactly what they say to Mary, "Hail Mary, Full of Grace, The Lord is with thee. Blessed art thou among women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners now, and at the hour of our death. Amen" It's no different than asking your neighbor to pray for you. Or the saying, "You're in my Prayers," or how about telling a friend "Dang I was diagnosed with Cancer, pray for me please." When Baptists say Catholics are hell bound because they pray to Mary, it's because they are repeating a stereotype without doing proper research. Instead of focusing on Mary they should focus on their own heretic doctrine of Once Saved Always Saved bullcrap. Some of these Baptists are so prideful, I heard a boastful sermon from a Pastor that said he never repents because Jesus died on the cross and there's no need to repent. You want to talk about hellish doctrines cooked up from the kitchens of hell, talk about that one! Luke 11/ vs27, 28. KJV. 27 And it came to pass, as he spake these things, a certain woman of the company lifted up her voice, and said unto him, Blessed is the womb that bare thee, and the paps which thou hast sucked. 28 But he said, Yea rather, blessed are they that hear the word of God, and keep it. What Jesus said to the issue. Which obviously includes Mary, who said to the angel Gabriel "Behold the handmaiden of the Lord. Let it be done to me according to your word." To claim that Jesus was insulting his mother here, violating one of the 10 commandments, is absurd. So typical. You do realize that all I did was quote scripture... not just scripture but the words of Jesus. And then I said, this is what Jesus said. You're calling what Jesus said, "absurd"? You can't worship like you do and then use the bible to defend it. Not if I can use it to show the error of your ways. Nope! J 17:15: "I pray not that Thou shouldst take them out of the world, but that Thou shouldst keep them from the evil. Truth, beauty and virtue ... all the things that THEY hate. All the things God loves. |

Mary having co-operated in our redemption with so much glory to God and so much love for us, Our Lord ordained that no one shall obtain salvation except through her intercession." - St. Alphonsus Maria de Liguori Bringing her to the status of Christ. Unbiblical and exactly idolatry "To give worthy praise to the Lord's mercy, we unite ourselves with Your Immaculate Mother, for then our hymn will be more pleasing to You, because She is chosen from among men and angels. Through Her, man became pleasing to God; Through Her, streams of grace flowed down upon us." - St. Faustina Redirecting God's power to send Jesus to the world to Mary. Exactly Idolatry and worship to Mary. God alone sent Jesus. O sinner, be not discouraged, but have recourse to Mary in all you necessities.
