Catholics dont " pray to her",.... they honor her If you honor her with you words and you seek for her to save you from hell while stating the hail Mary then yes you are praying to her. WRONG! It's no different than someone asking their dear old saintly aunt to pray for them.....ie. intercede for them. If I could ask only one, it would be Mary, as she is closer to Jesus.
