I have a very German name. I went to the archives of Auschwitz and birkenau and looked up my name.

What I found there shocked me. There are about three pages of persons with my last name. About 65% were J's. The remaining amount were non-J. with regard to their listed religious affiliations.


It didn't seem to matter -- anyone with my last name went to the camps, J or not. Hitler wanted to kill every single person on Earth with my last name, apparently, for they were from all over Europe.

What's funny is, I know two handfuls of Js. I put their name into the archives too, and none of their names appeared there. But I'm the Goy? Wtf? How's that possible?


I am not J today. Apparently my ancestors were?

It's all very confusing.

I don't know what to make of this information. Perplexing.

Wouldn't it be surprising if every person in America, non-Js, with German last names would do the same ONLY to find that their names were listed there too? Like me!

Have non-Js been included in that 6 million figure who weren't J-ish at all?
