Each state is apportioned a number of House delegates commensurate with the census count of their state. And each state is given just 2 Senators - these 2 chambers, along with the Presidency constitute co-equal branches of the government ~ a system of checks & balances.

Each state is also apportioned electors based on population counts. America is NOT a democracy. We are a "representative democracy," & our elected leaders are supposed to work within the strict confines of the Constitutional limits of their power. They don't do that anymore. We have a word for that: Tyranny.

Thomas Jefferson wrote about basic "democracy" & warned of it's dangers - the tyranny of the majority - where 51% can enslave & persecute 49%. The ancient city-states in Greece & the early Roman Republic learned these lessons the hard way, which is why our Founders crafted our governing documents the way they did.

Democrats have become that manifest evil Jefferson warned about. If they dismantle our Constitution, we become slaves & peasants for them to terrorize. Hence the need for a Republican model of government based on representative democracy, & not a 51% tyranny.
