I’m going to diet and eat healthy instead of taking any meds. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 62874767 BTW, Cholesterol comes from eating animals. If you really want to lower your cholesterol, eat less meat and more veggies. Your liver makes cholesterol. If you don't eat enough your liver will make more. |

As published in the Drug Safety journal researchers examined the reporting odds ratio of statins in relation to amyotrophic lateral sclerosis and ALS like symptoms, of which an ROR of 6 or more typically suggests probably cause. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 74112177 I'm also pretty sure it's why I get the runaround when I go to docs to try and get something resolved. Five docs in five years, only change has been in my bank balance. Started walking with a cane last week, longest walk is to the bathroom. As soon as I started the statin, I began having trouble with simple math, also have trouble spelling, and I've always been an ace with both. One quack I visited did say, "I bet you feel better now!", when I told him I quit taking the statin and refuse to touch it again, then he went back to being an a-hole. Some day, after we're dead and gone, there will be lawsuits and commercials on tv - "If you died, you have legal rights, call Bentagain and Snapitoff today." What is your age? Is the problem walking because of your heart, or your bones and joints? I'm 61 and move like 91. Heart and BP are fine. Bad back from tailbone to neck, but much of the problem is my muscles, they cramp and tear, fatigue easily, and stay in a weakened condition. I spend so much time nearly immobile, I can never regain any strength. On the best days, 5-10 minutes on my feet is all I can do. Try getting a shower, shave, and a sammich in 5 minutes, it can't be done. Lord have mercy, I quit statins and raised both cholesterol numbers from zero to 240, and the last doc insisted on giving me a statin. I resisted, strike one, refused vaccines, strike two. Then he wanted me to see a shrink because vitamins and supplements knock me out, strike three. I pulled a hamstring getting out of his office and was down six weeks. When I started the statin, I was fit and muscular, now I'm skinny with a pot belly and can barely move most of the time. I'm pretty much dumb as a rock most of the time as well. This past March was the last time I did anything useful, so 9 months. Year before I was down 8 months. The past two years, I've bought two tanks of gas for my vehicle. Everything on the property is in shambles. Around Easter, my eyes started popping blood vessels behind the retinas. I coughed one time, popped another vessel. Coughed another time while walking, blew my back out. There's no pain management anymore, the war on opiates is also a war on chronic pain sufferers. Kratom and wild lettuce is all I have, can't even get a muscle relaxer. These natural substances do help, but they're no silver bullet, I have no intention of giving them up. |

Have you considered using a high CBD edible(assuming legal in your state)? They are a wonderful, mild, but efficient, muscle relaxant with anti-spasmodic properties. For when you have the cycle of pain. There are more concentrated forms of cannabis as well, available at legal shops and dispensaries. Many people have been helped with spasmodic disorders and illnesses, for example epilepsy. To your health, sir! TOL "All you may know of heaven or hell is within your own self." - Edgar Cayce |

Yes I did try CBD oil once, but it may have been poor quality, since it didn't work. I did get to try 1 1/2 of 100% THC gummy bears, I did feel better for a few hours, but felt I'd be more functional if I could've eaten another 1/2 or so. I'll have to wait on medical pot. It's legal here but they've been putting it together for two years. No THC allowed, is what I understand. I tell everyone who'll listen, stay away from statins. They'll make a mess of you that no doc wants to clean up, they won't touch you with a ten foot pole. |
