Our local area has gone down the drain in startling ways in the past three years as well. VD exploded in literally exponential ways, doesn't even make any sense. I'd graph it but I already know it would look ridiculous. Crime, major and petty, through the roof. Homeless and addiction, all over the place, through the roof. Selfishness, carelessness, stupidity, you name it. Everything through the roof in the past 3 years. |

However the problem is more complex than that to the point that I have to double down on my high treason assertion above. But it's a lot to get into. I just think it's important that other people going through the same thing know that it's happening elsewhere to. Those going through it know what I mean. |

There is not one city in the USA that even compares to what is taking place there. Flint Michigan would be an oasis from the hell that is in Venezuela. The only thing worse than being a Venezuelan right now, would be a Brazilian prisoner. “When you’re dead you’re dead, but you’re not quite so dead if you contribute something” -John Dunsworth |

LMAO I am 2.5 hours south of Seattle and can confirm the place is a cesspool of corrupt politicians and homeless fuckwits. Last year I went to watch the yankee series vs mariners and was so amused by the oxymoron I witnessed. Outside the stadium they had a recording informing people not to smoke or vape in or outside the stadium, as tight across the street from one of the entrances a homeless man was preparing a cocktail of hard intravenous drugs to enjoy for all to see. Between 1992 and 1995, it was hell. For one year, I lived and survived in a city with 6,000 people without water, electricity, gasoline, medical help, civil defense, distribution service, any kind of traditional service or centralized rule. Money soon became worthless. We returned to an exchange. For a tin can of tushonka (think Soviet spam), you could have a woman. Arms, ammunition, candles, lighters, antibiotics, gasoline, batteries and food. We fought for these things like animals. In these situations, it all changes. Men become monsters. Strength was in numbers. For a man living alone, getting killed and robbed would be just a matter of time, even if he was armed. The following is my experience… |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 72644620 United States 12/03/2019 10:44 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | It's gonna be here so fast, it's going to blindside most everyone. Just looks at the prices of new cars, or homes. The cost of living has gone up so high, I don't see the economy lasting much longer. I'm considered a HCE (highly compensated employee) where I work and make well over six figures. When I see homes selling for $100-$200K more than their worth, or the average new cars going for $40-50K, it blows me away. I would never buy at these levels even though I have the money. We are a manufacturing company and employ 200 or so manual labor employees making $14-$25/hr. Most are 25-35 years old and many driving new/newer cars and buying $300K homes. There's no way they're saving any money and must be living paycheck to paycheck. It's crazy. Companies are making products cheaper but more expensive. Everything is cheaply made (any product you can name, and this goes for cars and homes too). How far can this go before it all crashes? Anyone who has money isn't spending it because they see exactly what I see. We are closer to a Venezuela situation than most can understand. A lot of these younger adults don't know any different and think this is all 'normal', when it's anything but. |

Quoting: Wowe Read the rest of the article HERE [link to survivorprepp.home.blog (secure)] The problem with this is that it is not a "post SHTF" world. None of these people know the meaning of the word. They have a some what functioning government, they still have a social system, they still have certain modern services and conveniences. That is hardly a SHTF scenario. Is it bad? Yes. Is it hard to deal with? Yes. Are there some lessons that can be taken from this? Maybe. In the First place this is not the US. We have different social problems that will come into play Post SHTF. Our cities are larger more populated. Our people are more use to modern conveniences and will be a lot more lost without them. Which will result in more violence, more depression and more problems overall. We have large quantities of weapons and we would not bow down to this kind of treatment by our government. So unless you are new to Prepping or Survivalism, this has no new information to share. |
