Lots of evidence all around Malta and Gozo for this. I think he's totally wrong with the gravity thing though. Gravity is caused by mass, and there's no reason to believe the mass of the Earth suddenly changed after the cataclysm. More likely smaller creatures just had more chance of finding shelter to survive the disaster, and required fewer resources, so fared better. |

There was a class of students taking a tour of a cave and they saw hairy giants walking in a lower part of the cave. Not sure which book it is at the moment.
