Let's look at this very simply.

We will say Japan is selling their 100 marbles on the playground.

USA, China, Russia and Japan are the names of the four kids on the playground.

USA is the biggest boy on the playground. He says he has 1 oz of gold to buy marbles from Japan.

China and Russia say your gold is fools gold. (It is)

And say hey Japan, we will give you 1oz of real gold for your marbles. (It is real gold)

So Japan is left with a conundrum. They both want my marbles! Who do I choose?

Real gold right?

Wrong. Cuz if Japan takes China and Russias real gold, this make big boy on playground (usa) very mad..he thought his gold was real too.

Japan knows USA is way stronger boy, and he protects Japan from other schoolyard bullies.

Plus Japan knows Usa could beat him up and steal his marbles if he wished.

So Japan thanks China and Russia children for their offers, but he knows gold wont protect him.

So he accepts the fools gold and happily gives away his marbles, knowing now he is finally safe.
