The straw that broke the camels back was an active duty commander (rank unknown assuming a butter bar or better bar) passing them out and a single support company being called out for not having them during a morning formation inspection. This was not a single complaint, by a single soldier... FFS quit with the bullshit already.

Don't like it? Tough titties, this is the fucking army. Your religion is yours, not the army's, we just give you time to go pray.

The Military Religious Freedom Foundation (MRFF) is a watchdog group and advocacy organization founded in 2005 by Michael L. "Mikey" Weinstein. The group's stated goal is to "ensure that members of the United States Armed Forces receive the Constitutional guarantee of religious freedom to which they are entitled by virtue of the Establishment Clause of the First Amendment."[1]

Weinstein describes the group's target as "a small subset of Fundamentalist Christianity that's called premilliennial, dispensational, reconstructionist, dominionist, fundamentalist, or just Dominionist Christianity."[2]
 Quoting: Archaic Smile

The organization was founded by USAFA graduate and former USAF Judge Advocate General's Corps officer Michael Weinstein in 2005 for the purpose of opposing the spread of alleged religious intimidation by Christians in positions of power within the US military.

I'm sensing an agenda here....

Seems many people dont take time to research these stories. I find it sad that people will believe a single headliner before reading the article or researching the names and organizations involved in such story.

Whatever your belief/spiritual system is, you have to be able to see that certain people and ways of life are deliberately being attacked opposed to other groups.
And at another time, when they raised a question about fortifications, he said that a city is not unfortified whose crowning glory is men and not bricks and stones.

A big problem on military bases, or posts, whatever is you have grossly ignorant and incompetent officers (the majority) who believe the Constitution and Law do not apply and THEY are the LAW.
It's sad really.

Atheists are the biggest cry babies and pathetic cucks. They get triggered by a cross or bible verse and want it banned or removed from public.

Of course they won't ever criticize muslims or buddhists, and especially not the jewish. They only criticize Christians.

As I see it:

1) you are trying to bullshit your way out of your claim

2) you aren't smart enough to find what you have said you read.

which is it?

How about I am on my cellphone and about to go to work on post, where I read that paper like daily. You are just practicing cognitive dissonance over YOUR religion and conflating it with the Army. I have better things to read than things I've already read just to prove a point to an idiot.

Wrong answer

Here's why:

1) you sound like you just got caught in a lie

2) your responses to this thread show that you have enough ability on your phone to find anything you need to prove your point.

I think you made the whole butter bar story up because Butter bars don't run companies they barely run platoons.

But let's just say what you said is true for a second.

The "offensive" passage said what?

"I will be strong and courageous - I will not be afraid - I will not be discouraged."

Let's see... no reference to God, Jesus Christ, Buddha, Shiva, Krishna, Allah, Satan or anything that has to do with religion, in fact, it fits right in with the whole "Army Strong" credo.

and since it is from the Old Testament, it isn't necessarily Christian either.

If your story happened at all, I see it as an exercise designed to inspire a unit with a motivational quote that anyone could believe in despite the source of the quote.

I am a military veteran from the 1980’s.

While biblical references were NOT stamped onto our dog tags, ALL dog tags indicated a person’s religion, even if “None”.

The purpose of indicating a soldier’s religion on the dog tag is for funeral and burial purposes of the body if the soldier is killed in action.

The tags are not to be used for religious expression.

Since when does the Army have the right to say a private company can't make "replica" dog tags ?

all they could do is tell soldiers they can't wear them in uniform

You still haven't proved it even happened...

You can't even get your story straight enough to prove it happened at all.

But let's be clear, this same group attacked an Air Force commander for sharing the inspirational life story of a man born without any arms or legs because Nick Vujicic is a Christian motivational speaker and his story was on a Catholic website that criticized President Obama on an entirely different webpage.

[link to en.wikipedia.org (secure)]

Seriously...

They tried to destroy an Air Force commander for trying to inspire his command just like in this case.
