Christ will return for the saints after the tribulation. I believe in premillennialism but post tribulationism. The early church believed and taught the same. Historic premillennialism is the only eschatology that entirely agrees with the scriptures.

It's at the end of the 'millennium' when Satan is unbound to deceive the nations...looking around at the level of deception and the speed with which it is increasing ...I'd lean towards it being the time.

The religions of this world preach a coming golden age.. how appropriate would it be that we are actually near the end of it instead?

I didn't miss a thing. It wouldn't matter if you didn't include the "&". Using the Early Church Fathers to validate your pet doctrines instead of relying on proper exegetical study of the Bible is what makes a heretic.

I think OP was saying those who believe in "the rapture," or premillenialism believe that Christ is coming - any day now - to "rescue" them from all the TRIBULATION. That believers are not going to go through the tribulation.

I'm somewhat in the same camp as the op. I DO NOT believe the Bible tells us that we will "escape" any such tribulation. I think anyone who does has twisted scripture to say that, and they believe it just so they can relax and think they will get out of here untouched by the evils coming our way.

I would wish that were true, but I do not believe the Bible says that.

Ok. So what in your opinion constitutes "proper" exegetical study and how did you come to this conclusion? I personally don't just "take" the doctrines of any man, especially if it's contradictory to Jesus' teaching or Paul's clarifications. If coincidentally enough the early church fathers agree with what scripture states then wonderful. If not, great. In the end, it's not "their" word that matters, it's His Word.

If that's your attitude ("...early church fathers agree...wonderful. If not, great...") why enthusiastically write "It's scripturally sound & complies with early church fathers"? - unless you are trying to deceive some that are not familar with their writings into thinking that the whole of the early church were post-millennialists. Complying with some of the writings of the early church fathers is irrelevant. You know, Premillennialism is also found in their writings.

Oh well I never said ALL of the early church fathers & my apologies if my statement implied that. I'm not trying to deceive anyone & I highly recommend that everyone reading this to ignore everything ANY of us say & READ THE BIBLE FOR THEMSELVES. It sounds like we don't necessarily disagree on anything. I probably could have worded it better/differently though.

Jesus directed us to "make disciples of all nations" - followers of Jesus preach the Gospel, or at the very least, support its propagation. Jesus is the cure for Marxism. Pre-Millennialist are not waiting around for Jesus to rescue us from the Communists - Christians are actually the only people actively doing the only thing that brings real peace.

...And when Jesus comes to take His bride, it will be at a time when sin has "reached its fullness" and world will not hear the Gospel any longer.

Post Millennialism can only be defended if you Spiritualize the Scriptures.

A literal interpretation leads to Premillennialism solely.

A literal interpretation is the only one worth living for and dying for and basing your eternal destiny on...
