Cat Food Recall

Special Kitty Mixed Grill Dinner Paté has been recalled “due to health concerns potentially associated with ingredients believed to not meet the Company’s quality and safety standards.”

They say,

“Ingesting impacted product may cause nausea with excessive salivation, diarrhea or vomiting to more severe symptoms including difficulty walking, seizures and, in extreme situations, death,” according to the recall announcement.

Contact your veterinarian immediately if your cat is displaying any of the symptoms above.

I don't know the exact reason that they are recalling this food, but please pass this recall along to all cat lovers.

not if they live mostly indoors and well fed cats don't hunt by intent pretty much.. will catch the mothies that are toys to them mostly.

I grow Oat sprouts for mine to devour as "Kitty grass".

The seeds I buy at a Feed/Seed store for about .85/lb [that's ALOT of Oat seeds!]. They sprout in 3-5 days and look like a miniature lawn when planted in a cookie sheet lined with a thin layer of soil. They don't even require much light - just keep the soil moist.

Greens such as this are essential for the Folic Acid they contain and the roughage also acts as a disgestive aid. The trouble comes when one of them decides to roll around in their lawn and crush the sprouts flat... but, another day or so out of their reach and the tray is ready for another buffet!

BTW: I have also tried growing Alfalfa and Sweet Clover sprouts but Oats seem to be their favorite. But ALL those seeds are dirt-cheap when bought at a feed/seed store where they are sold from bulk bins. The exact same seeds are repackaged and sold in much smaller quantities as "Kitty Grass" at a HUGE markup! Likewise I buy Organic Catnip from a wholesaler by the pound and save a bundle. I've tried growing, it, but they always nibble the plants down to nothing in NO time!

I'm really angry with the last vet who gave them the yearly shots. She tried to make me feel guilty about not having a Cats teeth cleaned! Man I wanted to let that idiot have it in the noggin, fucking moron, when I find out it's in the hundreds of dollars, two to three visits to a low brow area, and, potentially THOUSANDS of dollars if teeth have be pulled and whatever.

What do these people think wild animals do? Does she think I wouldn't take the cat if I knew it was in pain? It has bad breath most pets do!

People are total morons, I don't trust most people with higher degrees anymore to be competent. This was a freaking RESCUED cat, being treated at a volunteer clinic! They don't even do teeth. The ENTIRE SYSTEM is screwed and all based on syphoning as much money and energy from each other as possible. I'll try to find another way to get the cats treated now, the bitch!

the mother cat i have has had two litters and we have kept them all and she got fixed today so im sighing a breath of relief.
so all together i have eight.
they are all well fed with dry food and wet and they eat raw hamburger and raw chicken as well as scraps.

the thing is, she is a hunter through and through.
we are quite rural and shes constantly catching and eating rats and the frogs out in the front little pond.
she eats the entire thing, even the tails.
hell, she just got fixed TODAY and she went outside (that first shit is so nasty smelling with all the meds leaving her system) and she went out and got a rat not two hours after she got home.
i didnt let her eat it this time, first time!
i threw it out of the house.
normally she eats them outside, but not this time.
i think she will ALWAYS be hunting even with full bowls of food.

I made the mistake of feeding Starkist tuna to my cats as a treat. Big mistake. They will eat nothing else now, but I guess it's safer but more expensive. The strays are not picky.

Maybe Canadian cats are that way, but AMERICAN cats are sweet, soft, and purry.
