I had a kid coughing all over me the week before Thanksgiving, and wouldn't you know I got sick and spent the entire week of Thanksgiving (also my vacation) in bed, hacking up a lung and the following week still recovering. Then I read the other day that GA is having a lot of flu already and figured that it probably was the flu I got. Let me tell you, nobody wants this one. It goes straight to the lungs and you cannot even walk across the room without running out of breath! You cannot sleep because of the rattle in your lungs. Chills. No appetite. I haven't been this sick in years. Just a warning to others.

The stomach flu is going around this year. Not the same as the regular flu. Low grade fever and chills, loss of appetite, no respiratory symptoms. Lasted a few days before fever lifted.

My fire cider is at the 30 day mark and ready for the flu season. I also use Oil of oregano and mega doses of vitamin c. Have not had the flu in over a decade

So Louisiana is one of the states featured in the current pandemic panic. A recent article states the following about expected deaths in Louisiana due to COVID-19:

He said modeling suggests about 1,834 people in Louisiana could ultimately die, based on White House projections that the U.S. could see 100,000 to 240,000 deaths.

So while no one likes to read about death, it is inevitable that we will all face it sooner or later. Seeing this number, 1834, as the expected death toll for the state of Louisiana was quite shocking to me. It seems extremely low considering that Louisiana has a population of approximately 4.6 million ( [link to www.census.gov (secure)]

So I wondered how many people die of the flu in Louisiana every flu season. I'm still looking for those numbers, but in the meantime I found this article dated January 5, 2020:
