Sounds similar to a slipping belt. Doesn't matter if she's turning or going straight ahead, it will chip somewhat rhythmically if it's moving. The chirping seems to start about, maybe, 5 minutes after engaging 4x4. It has the OEM automatic locking hubs, which I've heard were junk even in 1989. Do you think switching to manual hubs might solve it? |

Quoting: Where Eagles Fly See if you can hear the fuel pump run when you turn the car on, but don't start it. There should be a 2 second humm. Might need a helper to work the key while you lay on the ground and listen. You can try the hammer trick as well. With someone cranking the car slug the bottom of the fuel tank with a hammer, a rock, or what have you. If it starts, it's time for a fuel pump. Thanks for the info! User ID: 76470389 United States 12/08/2019 04:40 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | 2010 silverado Motor swap complete this past Thursday. Since the engine has been chirping/slight squeal and when parked you can feel the whole truck slightly rocking. Oil Gauge moves up and down irregularly. They didn't hook up remote start. Smells of heavy gasoline. They said give it a week to settle in and it should be fine. I call bs. What do you think? My uneducated thought was engine isn't in correctly causing belts and pulleys to be off and causing the rocking. I feel like they said wait a week so they can charge us for more. (Side question is there any laws on mechanic work and guaranteed for x-days and this is why they're having us wait and see to skirt a law?) Thx for your help. |

Would you go the long route to replace it or would you replace it the short-cut route and still charge full labor hours? (Don't lie!) Quoting: Peach Head I'd probably replace the evaporator as well as any mode doors or actuators that are known to be troublesome. Jeep Grand Cherokees love to split the blend door pins so it's a good idea to do it all while you're there, instead of chancing having to get back into it to replace something you were just looking at. As for the "long route", what you're paying for is an agreed upon price for the job. |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 77784968 United States 12/08/2019 04:48 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Hi. I have a 2013 Volkswagen Golf TDI. The wheels have begun to wobble really badly (really bad from 30-40mph and around 60-70mph). I thought it was my rims because my dealership told me I had 3 bent rims (confirmed at tire shop), so just yesterday I bought 4 brand new aftermarket rims. But now it wobbles even worse! Any idea what could be causing this? Tires are all fairly new with one being only 2-3 months old. It seems to have a "noisy" front end and yesterday while I was driving around with the windows down (I live in South Texas), I could hear a clicking sound. Alignment is good. Any ideas? Thanks in advance.... |

Fairly uncomplicated. Reliable once it's in good working order. Which year? Brand? Diesel or gas? I'm not much of a wrench yet. Been working on old two-stroke yamahas to get my feet wet and knuckles bruised. Oh, what to look for in a body, too. What's a deal-breaker? What's not? I don't mind putting money in to make it reliable. Could afford new. Don't want. |

The AC compressor bearing came apart and seized, destroying the drive belt. Replaced the compressor and the belt. Seems there was a few strands of kevlar wrapped around the power steering pump shaft and that ate up the seal. So, in goes the new PS pump. Everything in that engine bay is packed incredibly tight (huge engine, small space). ALl fasteners are torx or inverted torx. Where can I get a set of swivel torx?
