Re: Letting my Light Shine (Parables/Spiritual Discernment)
My heart is tested on a daily basis. What is the source of your interpretation. Words on paper, the same interpretation that has been TAUGHT by MAN, over the last few thousand years? Before Pentecost.

Sacrificing in terms of killing and slaughter, is not what God intending. The sacrifice he ment, was serving god with your life, and doing his will in your life. Not killing.

THOUGH SHALL NOT KILL (MURDER).
Killing is not love.

My teaching is spiritual teachings, not phsycial teachings.

Killing a goat, or an oxen, or even a man (slaughter), does not profit god.

Sacrificing them, in terms of devoting their life to god, and his teaching is what he wants.

A goat/oxen is a personality type of a man.
Apostle Thomas was a goat, Jacob was a goat.
Spiritually discern what it means.
 Quoting: AceWestfall

UTTER NONSENSE

Father God was CLEAR about sacrificing animals as both a TRIBUTE to Himself AND atonement for sins.

Sending His Son ENDED that practice.

WHY do you suppose the Father allowed the temple to be destroyed and NOT rebuilt for 2000 years?

Your "understanding" is nothing but GNONSENSE.
I am a humble Servant of the one True Living God.

Re: Letting my Light Shine (Parables/Spiritual Discernment)
He allowed the temple to be destroyed, because true worship is not a place, its a lifestyle.

Lets go by your logic. He sacrificed his son, to stop animal sacrifice. That goes to show you in itself animal sacrifice did not please him.

That is the seed where payment equals forgiveness starts. Paying money to forgive your sins. Giving up something you love. You don't give up things you love for god to be forgiven. You give up things you love to show God he is more important than what you have. If you live a lifestyle where God and love is the most important thing in yourlife, then giving things up is not a "sacrifice", its done willingly. God is not a retail market, where you give up your cattle for exchange of forgiveness of your sins.

Isaiah 66:3
Whoever slaughters an ox is like one who slays a man; whoever sacrifices a lamb is like one who breaks a dog's neck; whoever presents a grain offering is like one who offers pig's blood; whoever offers incense is like one who praises an idol. Indeed, they have chosen their own ways and delighted in their abominations.

Tradition and Worship
…8‘These people honor Me with their lips, but their hearts are far from Me. 9They worship Me in vain; they teach as doctrine the precepts of men.’” 10Jesus called the crowd to Him and said, “Listen and understand.…

Jeremiah 14:12
Although they may fast, I will not listen to their cry; although they may offer burnt offerings and grain offerings, I will not accept them. Instead, I will finish them off by sword and famine and plague."

Amos 5:21
"I, the LORD, hate and despise your religious celebrations and your times of worship."

You believe the DOCTRINE OF MEN, that has been handed down generation from generation. You believe what you have been told. Seek and ye shall find.

He hates Christmas, Christmas is pagan. We celebrate Yule. Where in the bible does it say Jesus was born on Dec 25th. For one, we celebrate the birth of christ in the Roman Calendar instead of the Hebrew Calendar. Easter is also an abomination.

If you know the hebrew calendar, you would know some years have 13 months instead of 12.

You would also know that God has his own holidays.

Feast of Tabernacles, Feast of Unleavened Bread. High Sabbath.

Daniel's Visions Interpreted
…24And the ten horns are ten kings who will rise from this kingdom. After them another king, different from the earlier ones, will rise and subdue three kings. 25He will speak out against the Most High and oppress the saints of the Most High, intending to change the set times and laws, and the saints will be given into his hand for a time, and times, and half a time. 26But the court will convene, and his dominion will be taken away and completely destroyed forever.…

He will speak out against the Most High, intending for us to FEAR the son of god, instead of love him and worship him.

He will change the set times, the calendar (roman catholics did this), the laws. He will require physical sacrifice, instead of spiritual sacrifice. The sabbath is Saturday, not Sunday. The month starts out the first time you the sliver of the moon. And ends when you don't see the moon anymore. Those gaps in between, those 2-3 days, is for the 13 month. The day starts in the evening, when the moon comes out, not at Midnight. Christ died in the evening. As it was getting dark, the end of the daylight, start of the next day.

Re: Letting my Light Shine (Parables/Spiritual Discernment)
Matthew 7:6
Do not give dogs what is holy; do not throw your pearls before swine. If you do, they may trample them under their feet, and then turn and tear you to pieces.

You are a dog! You see some body threatening your house (your beliefs that MANKIND has taught you), so you are barking and being aggressive. You are trampling them under your feet, (you are discarding and destroying my pearls (my wisdom, interpretations) under your feet (your journey, your path to enlightenment), then you turn towards me and attack what I say.

The Mission of John the Baptist
…26“I baptize with water,” John replied, “but among you stands One you do not know. 27He is the One who comes after me, the straps of whose sandals I am not worthy to untie.

John was not worthy of untieing Jesus's feet (beliefs/journey/teachings) and sit him down to teach him.

God's Faithful Messiah
1A Psalm of David. The LORD said to my Lord: “Sit at My right hand until I make Your enemies a footstool for Your feet.” 2The LORD will extend Your mighty scepter from Zion: “Rule in the midst of your enemies.”…

God says to Jesus, to sit down, that God will teach him.
You will rule, you will teach the truth and change people's hearts in the midst of your enemies. You will teach love over fear, and will have more followers.

Today nearly everybody seeks love more than they do trying to scare people.

In ancient days, people ruled by fear and power.
Today the government tries to get us to love them, and they try to rule by love, a twisted version of it, mind you.
The churches do the same thing, by saying jesus loves you, accept him and be saved. If you don't you'll burn and be tortured eternally. Twisted again.

Re: Letting my Light Shine (Parables/Spiritual Discernment)
The Parable of the Sower
(Mark 4:1-9; Luke 8:4-8)

1That same day Jesus went out of the house and sat by the sea. 2Such large crowds gathered around Him that He got into a boat and sat down, while all the people stood on the shore.

3And He told them many things in parables, saying, “A farmer went out to sow his seed. 4And as he was sowing, some seed fell along the path, and the birds came and devoured it.

5Some fell on rocky ground, where it did not have much soil. It sprang up quickly, because the soil was shallow. 6But when the sun rose, the seedlings were scorched, and they withered because they had no root.

7Other seed fell among thorns, which grew up and choked the seedlings.

8Still other seed fell on good soil and produced a crop—a hundredfold, sixtyfold, or thirtyfold.

9He who has ears,a let him hear.”

The Purpose of Jesus’ Parables
(Mark 4:10-12; Luke 8:9,10)

10Then the disciples came to Jesus and asked, “Why do You speak to the people in parables?”

11He replied, “The knowledge of the mysteries of the kingdom of heaven has been given to you, but not to them. 12Whoever has will be given more, and he will have an abundance. Whoever does not have, even what he has will be taken away from him. 13This is why I speak to them in parables:

‘Though seeing, they do not see;

though hearing, they do not hear or understand.’b

14In them the prophecy of Isaiah is fulfilled:

‘You will be ever hearing but never understanding;

you will be ever seeing but never perceiving.

15For this people’s heart has grown callous;

they hardly hear with their ears,

and they have closed their eyes.

Otherwise they might see with their eyes,

hear with their ears,

understand with their hearts,

and turn, and I would heal them.’c

16But blessed are your eyes because they see, and your ears because they hear. 17For truly I tell you, many prophets and righteous men longed to see what you see but did not see it, and to hear what you hear but did not hear it.

The Parable of the Sower Explained
(Mark 4:13-20; Luke 8:11-15)

18Consider, then, the parable of the sower: 19When anyone hears the message of the kingdom but does not understand it, the evil one comes and snatches away what was sown in his heart. This is the seed sownd along the path.

20The seed sown on rocky ground is the one who hears the word and at once receives it with joy. 21But since he has no root, he remains for only a season. When trouble or persecution comes because of the word, he quickly falls away.

22The seed sown among the thorns is the one who hears the word, but the worries of this life and the deceitfulness of wealth choke the word, and it becomes unfruitful.

23But the seed sown on good soil is the one who hears the word and understands it. He indeed bears fruit and produces a crop—a hundredfold, sixtyfold, or thirtyfold.”

The Parable of the Weeds
(Ezekiel 17:1-10)

24Jesus put before them another parable: “The kingdom of heaven is like a man who sowed good seed in his field. 25But while everyone was asleep, his enemy came and sowed weeds among the wheat, and slipped away. 26When the wheat sprouted and bore grain, then the weeds also appeared.

27The owner’s servants came to him and said, ‘Sir, didn’t you sow good seed in your field? Where then did the weeds come from?’

28‘An enemy did this,’ he replied.

So the servants asked him, ‘Do you want us to go and pull them up?’

29‘No,’ he said, ‘if you pull the weeds now, you might uproot the wheat with them. 30Let both grow together until the harvest. At that time I will tell the harvesters: First collect the weeds and tie them in bundles to be burned; then gather the wheat into my barn.’”

I am Jesus's Servant, sowing seed in the field. Sowing messages/teachings, in people who read this thread.
Enemies come by night and teach what they have been taught by men, and have been indoctrinated.

Let my seed, and the enemies seed, grow together. The righteous and the wicked. The true seeker with honest intentions who is open hearted/minded, and the one's who already hardened their heart and stick to their beliefs.

Wisdom from God

26Brothers, consider the time of your calling: Not many of you were wise by human standards; not many were powerful; not many were of noble birth. 27But God chose the foolish things of the world to shame the wise; God chose the weak things of the world to shame the strong. 28He chose the lowly and despised things of the world, and the things that are not, to nullify the things that are, 29so that no one may boast in His presence.

30It is because of Him that you are in Christ Jesus, who has become for us wisdom from God: our righteousness, holiness, and redemption. 31Therefore, as it is written: “Let him who boasts boast in the Lord

Trouble is, I can't find the light.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 78070110

Just like the Sun in the morning lights the dark of the night. It comes gradually, not in an instant. You must have early morning, before late morning, before early afternoon. The light gradually increases.

If you need a good place to start, follow the 10 commandments. Love each other, when somebody does or says something that offends or hurts you, try to figure out why they said it. Stay quiet when somebody insults you, listen rather than speak.

Do a good self inspection of yourself. See what makes you, well you. Figure out why you are the way you are. Truth is spiritually manifested before physically manifested. If you are looking for physical wealth, and fame, then God won't help you. You need to seek spiritual wealth and wisdom.

Look back on your life, and think about all the times you majorly wronged somebody or did something with not the best intentions of your heart. Feel genuinely sorry for them, not out of obedience, but with a sincere attitude of seeking forgiveness and understanding. The longer and the more you do this sort of thing, the more your eyes will open.

Open up the Bible and start at Genesis. Read it cover to cover. Don't try to interpret it judge it, or analyze it. Just read it like you would a story. Be an Ox, plow that field (the scriptures) for your master (god/jesus).
The Ox doesn't know what the master is doing, he his just doing his job. So just read it, cover to cover.

Henceforth I call you not servants; for the servant knoweth not what his lord doeth: but I have called you friends.--JOHN 15:15.

Become a servant, and after a while, he will call you his friend. Serve him by reading it like a story, innocent like. Just read it with the right attitude.

There is no "get rich quick scheme". It is not easy, but for those who are sincere, it is there.

The Workers Are Few
35 Jesus went through all the towns and villages, teaching in their synagogues, proclaiming the good news of the kingdom and healing every disease and sickness
. (diseased from looking but not finding [bitterness], sick because of holding onto false doctrine[pride]) 36 When he saw the crowds, he had compassion on them, because they were harassed and helpless, like sheep without a shepherd. 37 Then he said to his disciples, “The harvest is plentiful but the workers are few. 38 Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out workers into his harvest field.”

“The kingdom of heaven is like a mustard seed that a man planted in his field. 32Although it is the smallest of all seeds, yet it grows into the largest of garden plants and becomes a tree, so that the birds of the air come and nest in its branches."

just like any seed, it must be nourished, and taken care of to grow. Find the seeds in the bible, let him plant those seeds in you as you read. Then the light will begin to rise.

Re: Letting my Light Shine (Parables/Spiritual Discernment)
Try reading the "Gospel of Thomas", which isn't in the bible.

These are the secret sayings that the living Jesus spoke and Didymos Judas Thomas recorded.

1. And he said, "Whoever discovers the interpretation of these sayings will not taste death."

2. Jesus said, "Those who seek should not stop seeking until they find. When they find, they will be disturbed. When they are disturbed, they will marvel, and will reign over all. [And after they have reigned they will rest.]"

3. Jesus said, "If your leaders say to you, 'Look, the (Father's) kingdom is in the sky,' then the birds of the sky will precede you. If they say to you, 'It is in the sea,' then the fish will precede you. Rather, the (Father's) kingdom is within you and it is outside you.

When you know yourselves, then you will be known, and you will understand that you are children of the living Father. But if you do not know yourselves, then you live in poverty, and you are the poverty."
