YouTube Will Now Ban for Criticizing Others - Even if Their Policies Were Not Violated! | |
Anonymous Coward User ID: 78219448 United States 12/11/2019 09:13 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | "They even talk about banning harassment of "public figures" in the new rules." Quoting: Blue State Rebel That's pretty stunning because if we can't talk about political or social or entertainment figures on YouTube....what the hell is the point of HAVING it? YouTube only exists because of our content. If we stop giving it content, what will it be? That might be why they're pushing YouTube TV, which I can't imagine buying - because it will be the same kind of programming you'd get in Netflix, etc. instead of being YouTube it would be more aptly named.....PROGRAMMING. So how long a future does YouTube have with these strident new rules? Are they looking forward to a future of cat and cooking videos? We need more platforms and obviously places where adults can talk politics and other controversial subjects and the delicate left wing orchids can flutter elsewhere. Have you ever heard of Bitchute? It's way better than youtube. They don't censor anyone's free speech. |

You are free to criticize public figures and non members in all the callout threads you want, and you can argue with each in threads all you want. I'm totally fine with that^... but there's a lot of "normal" conspiracy topics that get deleted as well. |
Anonymous Coward User ID: 75952916 United States 12/11/2019 09:34 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | The YouTube Purge has begun. YouTube has retroactively changed its rules on what counts as "harassment" on its platform. What this means is that even if your videos and comments do NOT violate their policies, if you demonstrate a "pattern of behavior" of repeatedly attacking other content creators, individuals or public officials you will lose your ad partnered account or even your entire channel. Quoting: Astroshill "Consequences for a pattern of harassing behavior Something we heard from our creators is that harassment sometimes takes the shape of a pattern of repeated behavior across multiple videos or comments, even if any individual video doesn’t cross our policy line. To address this, we're tightening our policies for the YouTube Partner Program (YPP) to get even tougher on those who engage in harassing behavior and to ensure we reward only trusted creators. Channels that repeatedly brush up against our harassment policy will be suspended from YPP, eliminating their ability to make money on YouTube. We may also remove content from channels if they repeatedly harass someone. If this behavior continues, we’ll take more severe action including issuing strikes or terminating a channel altogether." [link to youtube.googleblog.com (secure)] So basically from now on I can't risk making videos on YouTube that debunk a particular person, and I may even lose my account for existing debunking videos that do not break any rules. From now on I will not mention anyone else's channel by name when I make a debunking video, I will only address the subject without mentioning who said it or who is promoting it. They even talk about banning harassment of "public figures" in the new rules. I can see this being the pretext to ban any political speech they do not like if it criticizes political figures they want to protect, while they will turn a blind eye to attacks on political figures they disagree with. I have little doubt the timing of this in the run up to the 2020 election is not just a coincidence. I thought a lot of the warning calls about a YouTube Purge starting this month were just fear mongering, but it's already begun with old and popular videos of YouTubers criticizing other YouTubers being taken down. These videos were not just uploaded after this announcement was made, some specific examples are given in this video which relate to old videos that have been on YouTube for a while now. Heads up, if you criticize anyone on a regular basis on YouTube your entire channel is now at risk of deletion. This sounds like an excuse to ban anyone who supports President Trump in the upcoming 2020 election. Google/YouTube are getting serious about squelching Trump. Watch Diamond and Silk get banned, for example. YT might even ban Trump because in his speeches he faults the media for being fake news. Certainly YT will ban those who post Trump's vids or call out fake news. |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 78153170 Canada 12/11/2019 10:00 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | It looks like the days of making a living on YouTube are numbered for the little guy. If you want to continue to make videos, I suggest getting an account with Minds.com and Bitchute and upload your videos there and use things like subscribe star the Patreon alternative to solicit money from your subscriber fans and create merchandise to sell like T-shirts and baseball caps with your own unique humor on it like Mark Dice does. You can pretty much kiss earning ad revenue on YouTube goodbye between the new Coppa laws coming into effect in January and the ever increasing draconian vague rules YouTube keeps putting in place. YouTube wants to go the Netflix route and doesn't have the balls to tell YouTubers to get lost so instead keeps bringing in more draconian vague rules to shut down more and more YouTubers channels. It is like the frog in the pot of boiling water. |

Private companies and corporations can do whatever they or their shareholders want. For those calling for an alternative, trust me there are many folks that have the ability to execute thinking or planning the same thing. Reality is that the YouTube of the old days doesn't make money. Don't forget Google bought YouTube in 2006 for almost 2 billion. With that kind of investment, even for Google, there was a plan behind it. So now it's just a watered down piece of shit. You can't even find content on there anymore, it's all mainstream shit that comes up + anything that is considered fringe or "conspiracy" is filtered way down in their algorithms. |

Truth is hateful, dont talk about it. Gen. John B Gordon and Gen. Nathan Bedford Forrest were the finest citizen-soldiers birthed in America. |
