Oakland considers housing the homeless on a cruise ship

Earlier today there was thread about housing homeless on FEMA Barges.

Great idea maybe they can drop them off on one of the atolls.

The "Great Round Up", at least someone is thinking.

Even paying tourists get violently ill from viruses on those ships. Now add in junkies, drunks, and street shitters, and it should kill them off even quicker than the streets.

They'll have to burn and sink that ship when done. As soon as customers discover that the ship was used for this, they'll cancel.

Aren't there arent any open malls or office buildings? Golf courses? Warehouses? Of course there are.

Pretty sure they would take them a couple hundred miles offshore, then ring the abandon ship alarm. Toss them over the side. and come back for the next load.

Not even sure if laws apply out there. The Captain is the law.

I think regular people would love to live on a ship. Especially seniors. They have all amenities right there. Just keep it parked. Rooms would probably go for premium. Ocean views and pools.

I think the homeless in large cities should be sent back to the towns they went to elementary school in.

This would take some of the heat off of the cities.

In many cases, the homeless might still have friends or family there.

All towns should devote space to the crazy, addicted or disabled. Federal grants would be a good idea to get them started. Many towns already have a civic center sort of thing.

The best choice would be a sort of daycare arrangement, where the homeless actually slept with their families at night, but were dropped off at the town building in the morning.

They could distribute drugs like candy, turn on the TV and let them at least kill themselves indoors with a public bathroom and some friends around them.

If the drugs were free, the addicted wouldn't be ripping off grandma, and would have a bed at night. Maybe they could even help grandma in return, and maybe even build up some skills, confidence, or etc.

Are they going to supply the heroine?
