There are a great many US/SK aircraft flying around for that last few days that have the capability to monitor a launch and Vandenburg Air Force base's launch pad has a least one Missile ready to launch westward over the Pacific ocean.

Don't take your eyes off North Korea just yet. The most advantageous time for them to do something is between Christmas and New Year's when a lot of military staff, analysts, and other people are on leave and/or traveling to see family. The ability to analyze our satellite data and form a quick response based on that data if necessary will be slowest during that week.

I am sure enough competent Military staff will be available..
