I play a game with them.

Level 1 is keeping them on the phone until they get someone that speaks better English because they think they have a sucker.

Level 2 is keep the next person on for as long as possible and then telling them that the only reason I am talking to them is to cost their company money by wasting their time.

Level 3 is after I tell them that if they swear in broken English at me. "Eww yew muter phucker.."

Considering these asswipes are in India, the Do Not Call laws are useless. Plus they use Voice Over IP and spoofing software to spoof numbers, so the only thing you can do is waste their time.

Funny, OP. I have been literally laughing out loud even while at my local library should I bother to answer any phone calls while there whenever such telemarketing scammers call me. I immediately hang up right after I say, "Nice scam!" or some other variant. I have been getting less calls since I began to do this.

I enjoy abusing them. They broke the social contract so I feel no guilt in abusing them in the most hurtful way possible. It's usually an Indian so I go after the racially and also their country.

I should mention too, guys, that I have explicitly noticed over the last year or two with these phone scammers is they use not only robo-callers, but also attach them to computers. Specifically, I mean the attached computers are most likely scripted to know the difference(s) between being hung up on outright, being thrown into your Voicemail box, and you willingly answering their phone call.

I have noticed that there there is at least one phone scammer out there who will use this scripting BS. If you let or throw them into your Voicemail box they will leave a message to let you know the next time you answer their call you will be given a chance to press 2 to be put on their Do Not Call List. Even if you wait, wait, and wait lots more and they call you back on the same spoofed phone number(s) and you answer their call their call will be up to completely different and you will never be given the opportunity to press 2 to be put on their Do Not Call List.

I thought is was hilarious too, my husband was laughing. I could tell he was from India or Pakistan and then the Amazon guy came and he reminded me of him and he touched my hand when he handed me the package with a creepy smile on his face I was like OMG! My husband asked me who came to the door I told him the telephone scammer. lol

These calls are coming from out of the country but spoofing local numbers.
