Getting back to being obsessive and hyperfocused. I was looking scripture on the incarnation today.

But first, where we left off. We noted the following passages where Jesus denies Mary is His mother and that birthing Him makes her blessed or significant:

(Mark3:31-35)
Then Jesus’ mother and brothers came and stood outside. They sent someone in to summon Him, and a crowd was sitting around Him. “Look,” He was told, “Your mother and brothers are outside, asking for You But Jesus replied, “Who are My mother and My brothers?” Looking at those seated in a circle around Him, He said, “Here are My mother and My brothers! For whoever does the will of God is My brother and sister and mother.”

(Luke 11:27-28)
As Jesus was saying these things, a woman in the crowd raised her voice and said, “Blessed is the womb that bore You, and blessed are the breasts that nursed You.” But He replied, “Blessed rather are those who hear the word of God and obey it.”

Then, we also have that key verse in Hebrews telling us Jesus is without mother or father:

(Hebrews 7:3)
Without father or mother or genealogy, without beginning of days or end of life, like the Son of God, he remains a priest for all time.

Okay. So, today I was reading verses where Jesus talks about coming from the Father and being sent into the world. I also had a look at the Greek to assess the translations. Take the following verse, for instance.

John 8:42
Jesus said to them, "If God were your Father, you would have loved Me, for I came forth from God and am here; for not even have I come of Myself, but He sent Me.

The key words and their meanings:

Exerchomai - to come out of

Ek - from, suggesting from the interior outwards (out of the depths of the source and extending to its impact on the object)

Apostelló – to send forth

There are numerous verses where Jesus uses this same language in explaining his origins. And the language is clear. Jesus comes from within the Father and extends out into the world. This is not describing the creation of a new being whose essential nature is merely derivative and subordinate like that of a man.

John 8:42
"for I proceeded forth and came from God"

John 15:26
"when the Comforter is come,...... the Spirit of truth, which proceedeth from the Father,"

Proverbs 8:22
"The LORD brought me forth as the first of his works, before his deeds of old"

Micah 5:2
"But thou, Beth-lehem Ephrathah, Which art little to be among the thousands of Judah, Out of thee shall one come forth unto Me that is to be ruler in Israel; Whose goings forth are from of old, from ancient days."

Yes, and Jesus could only proceed from the Father in His new role (established by the new covenant) as the Comforter (who indwells man) after first returning to be glorified with the Father and drinking the new wine He made to share with us in His Kingdom. So He could infuse us with the new truth of His victory over sin and death and include us in His union with the Father.

But the new covenant, new wine, and new role didn't make him a new or different Spirit. He didn’t change. Our relationship and experience with Him changed.

Hmmm..

We sow/conceive the seed of the Gospel (commandments of the Father) then harvest/deliver the fruit of the Gospel (Christ born unto us)?

Not yet sure of what you’re sure of in this lesson. No clue on Genesis 3:15. The bruising is over my head rather than on my head. Teach me.

Jesus descended from Heaven, he's eternal, remember?

He was never concieved; instead, He is the source of creation.

Father God was NEVER "born", yet Jesus makes this statement.
