Drain the swamp? Lobbyists are filling it up

President Donald Trump promised to drain the swamp. Instead, it’s filling up.


For the first time since 2007, the number of registered lobbyists along with federal lobbying spending each went up, reversing annual declines that began a decade ago.


In all, $3.37 billion was spent on federal lobbying last year, up 7 percent from $3.15 billion in 2016. The increase comes after declines in spending five of the previous six years, rising less than 1 percent the other year.

The only things that are embarrassing about america are the stupid leftists and the vast amount of obese people.

Oh yeah, and the fact that we are governed by an unelected group of bureaucrats, technocrats and oligarchs under a complete surveillance state despite the fact that we pride ourselves on being one of the most free nations on the planet.

POTUS Trump did do an EO for White House lobbyist and extended it 3 yrs past former POTUS Obama's EO for 2 yrs. And he can't really control congressional lobbyist can he? That would require senators to actually do some work and address the issue themselves but that's not gonna happen. It does not matter if the senate is left or right when it comes to their pockets...they are thieves regardless.

Anyway, lobbying is not the only way tax payer $$'s leave Washington for bullshit. Let's look at flotus Obama school lunch program or Obama's affordable care act sign up program that failed to launch numerous times before it launched.

Now about cleaning that swamp which is not all about lobbyist either...I think POTUS Trump is doing a damn good job. If we could get congress to write law making it easier to fire federal workers instead of moving their corrupt asses around like the Vatican we'd be doing alright. Bruce Orr is a great example of someone who should be fired period but he still works for the fed today.
